    Wireless NIC antenna

    I acquired a Netgear WG311v3 NIC for free with some stuff I got

    Unfortunately only the stub of its antenna remained, rest was broken off

    Just tested it with an antenna borrowed from my other WG311v3, and it works fine

    Any recommendations for a replacement antenna ?

    I'm tempted to get a higher gain antenna to improve the NIC I borrowed from, or maybe just get one of the $2 replacement ones from DealExtreme

    Please consider I'm in Australia - no value in recommendations for stuff from NewEgg or other vendors where shipping costs are unviable

    Not really interested in Netgear bashing either

      I've just bought an Asus WL-ANT151 on eBay, from a vendor in Taiwan

      The Asus name provides a small degree of confidence that it might be a bit better than a BrandX unit
      better to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt
