I was setting up a new laptop for a client which required a factory installation of Windows 7.
But when I was connecting to a wireless network with Wi-Fi Protected Setup (in what appears to be a setup wizard), I got no prompt to push the button for this function or enter a PIN number, although I was able to connect with the pushbutton method (after clicking on the network connections icon) after installation of Windows 7 was finished.
Why didn't the Windows 7 setup prompts for connecting to a wireless network allow Wi-Fi Protected Setup?
One possible reason why you initially cannot connect with Wi-Fi Protected Setup (even though both access point and client support it in hardware and drivers) is that the client may not be completely configured.
