It does look a little prego but some circuits won't provide enough power for a bad cap to really gas up and go really plump. I'd test it and outright replace that lousy brand anyhow.

Hello everyone.
I have a problem.
The BIOS chip on my Lenovo Legion 5 17ACH6H appears to be defective. I wanted to read the chip first with the ch431a programmer and then with the t48 and create a dump. However, it always threw an error during verification.
I then bought a new BIOS chip from Aliexpress and loaded an existing dump onto the chip. With the corresponding DMI.
Unfortunately, the laptop now keeps restarting.
My question is, can you simply use the DMI from a foreign dump, or is the motherboard completely lost due to the defective BIOS chip? -
I have a ThinkPad T14 which always finds an error at a very specific address during a RAM test. I therefore believe that exactly one of the RAM chips on the mainboard is defective. How do I find this defective RAM chip?07-29-2025, 11:55 AM -
Hello,
I located a defective EC (IT557VG-128)on a MS-16R81 2.0 board of a MSI Thin GF63 12U. The board doesn't have any voltages except the 19V power line.
Some Caps and resistors around the EC show less than 2 ohms. One of them is a 3V rail. When I inject 1V@1A the EC heats up.
I'm pretty sure I can't just buy and replace it since it probably needs the correct firmware on it.
Does anyone of you guys know?... -
Just archiving everything related to bumpgate since most stuff has disappeared from Google. Maybe people will finally take the time to read some of it and stop shouting "reflow gpu" at every occasion but rather try to understand what the real issue is…
