    Is this a good replacement

I have 2 x Cisco SGE2010P's that were given to me because they do not work.

When I opened them I found a blown cap, same cap in both actually.

I'm not 100% familiar with the labels on caps so I'm wondering if this is a good replacement.

    Blown: 1000uf 16v Ltec (I think)

    Potential replacement: https://www.amazon.com/1000uf-Capaci.../dp/B004O21PPE

Will that work as a replacement or should I look for another?

    use panasonic FR series
and make sure the diameter matches before buying, or it wont fit on the board.

So I pulled up a list of the panasonic FR caps on mouser:

      https://www.mouser.com/Panasonic/Pas...RoCqzoQAvD_BwE

They both look the same so which would be better?

Also both say the size is 10x16mm but I measured the cap as 10x20mm, I know its blown so its actually smaller but still does height make a difference if its a MM off?

diameter is important, height only matters if the replacement is bigger

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
          by the_rem
          Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

Panasonic SA-XR25,Looking for a good replacement cap
          by Jagster
I have a Panasonic SA-XR25 surround receiver that is not working and I believe it may have a faulty capacitor. This large capacitor near the mains power input has a plastic top that is bulged out. Anyhow, I'm trying to find a like replacement but Panasonic doesn't seem to make this capacitor any longer and I want to find a suitable replacement. It has an "AUDIO" designation written which I presume means something important in relation to the capacitors design characteristics. Can someone advise on what would be a good replacement? Image attached.

LG 47LB5DF blown power supply board
          by cmlewis89
          Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...

Dick Smith Q-1760 linear power supply filter capacitor question
          by Agent24
I have acquired a used Dick Smith Q-1760 power supply - although the OEM is Manson Industrial
It has at least one problem.

The voltage control potentiometer VR2, 50K is faulty - going high resistance / open circuit in the CCW end and leading to the output voltage jumping around.
I have already ordered a replacement potentiometer, so that's not an issue.

Now, I want to replace all three electrolytics on the PCB as they are CapXon and I don't trust them so much, I will replace them with something better while I've got the thing apart anyway.
          All are CapXon...

Part selection for possible blown inductor on ASUS GX531-GW-AB76 laptop mobo
          by swerg
          Hey everyone,

I'm a novice trying to repair my laptop. The LCD screen has an image, but no LED backlight for the image. It also produces an image when connected to an external monitor.
I have found what I believe to be a blown inductor labeled "L4502" and "120 Ohm" in the schematics (zoomed in image, blue arrow to blown component). I have included an image of the general area of the mobo and an excerpt from the schematics as well.
I am having trouble selecting a replacement component, which I believe to be a 120 Ohm ferrite bead, from the components...
