Finding a replacement cap for my snap in capacitor

I acquired an old 22 yr Woodway treadmill 2 months ago that was not working (no power when plugged in). I started troubleshooting the boards (drive and interface) and have replaced/fixed a few issues so far (bad main AC fuse holder and interface board soldered fuse). The treadmill now turns on and I'm getting a run light on the drive board but still no interface display controls. None of the lights on the interface board were lighting up either but I was getting AC voltage through the Interface transformer. Next I decided to remove a (soldered)snap in capacitor to get a LCR measurement. I did get a reading on the cap but because of the cheap LCR I wasn't very confident in it since it was greater than -10% accuracy. I put the cap back in place and re-soldered. I still didn't get any lights on the interface user display but I pressed and held the "ON" button located on the user display. The interface board LED lights were now coming on intermittently. So I am thinking that the Interface capacitor needs to be replaced.

It is a 6800uf 16V snap in and the size is 20-22mm diameter by 30mm height. The legs are spaced about 10mm apart. The top of the cap in pic says 5419(M) +85C. I looked through the caps library on this forum and think maybe it's a Panasonic. I attached an image also. I'm having difficulty finding a replacement for this guy and could use some help. Thanks, Chris

The cap is likely fine, and not the problem. but if you want to replace it, try Digikey, here is a Rubycon that would work: 1189-3866-ND
There are other snap-in type of that size https://www.digikey.com/products/en/...=1&pageSize=25
It does'nt need to be a snap-in and you could just use a radial type with the same capacity/voltage and size to fit

You may be right- I'm certainly not confident that this needs replacing. It just threw me because I pressed that "ON" button before removing the cap and nothing happened (no LED lights on the board). Thanks for the info

Matsushita/Panasonic TSU series. The "(M)" simply means it's a +/-20% capacitor, common for electrolytics. Based on the date code of the Analog Devices IC at the center right of your picture I'm going to guess that was built in late 1995 or early 1996.

Based on that 50/60 Hz transformer, I'm going to guess it's a linear regulated power supply, if it's regulated. I'd check the input fuse, and if it's not blown start tracing the voltage from there to wherever it disappears. Remember to use the AC setting on your DMM when you're in the primary circuit or looking at the input to the bridge rectifier.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Could you please post a picture of the hole board so we all the components

          Thanks

Where can I get compatible capacitor for replacement?
            by artvandalai
Blew the capacitor on my analytical balance scale using the wrong power adapter. I need help finding a replacement compatible capacitor to buy. Will any 100uf 40v capacitor work as a replacement?

klipsch kda-500 amplifier suitable power supply capacitor replacement ?
            by r2digital
I have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...

            Discontinued Capacitor looking for Replacement
            by rwkish
Capacitor has been discontinued (EGXF101ELL331MM20S) all of the replacements I have found have are smaller than 0.709" Dia (18.00mm). I would like to use the same size or at least close to the same size Capacitor. 19mm would be too big as they would touch and not be able to through hole mount. Tia...

            Replacement capacitor options please?
            by Hylax
Hi, I'm super new to this capacitor stuff but I've some basic soldering experience with old cellphones PCBs and headphones. I have this APAQ AR5K 820∆μF 3V Dc Capacitor from a motherboard that I'm looking to replace, photos I've attached. But I'm unable to find a 3V one like I've marked in the spec sheet in red (This is the one currently present in the motherboard). But the 6.3V one I can find (marked in blue) is of similar dimensions but different specs as mentioned in the table. Is it okay to replace it with higher voltage cap, slightly higher ESR, slightly lower ripple current, and double...

Single capacitor replacement on arcade pcb
            by GKdays
I have a damaged capacitor from a bootleg double dragon arcade pcb and I have the normal values from it:

10 volt, 100uF, 85c, but someone from an arcade forum said that the ripple current is not that critical and any good quality low esr cap would be fine, the damaged one is an electrolytic can type but I don't know what to look for as far as low esr is concerned, can a ceramic capacitor be used instead, the capacitor is going to the +5 volt

I don't know the brand but on the top of the capacitor is stamped "76 F6" if there is a datasheet ide be able to...
