    Cap differences?

I have someone that has a Dell optiplex gx260 that has a bad board. Looking at the board it has one bad cap on it. The cap that is bad is a rubycon 6.3 mcz 1500uf. I just recently bought some rubycon 1500uf MCZ 10v caps for another project I am working on. The cap on the dell is a small fat cap, and the caps that I bought are longer and skinny. Could I use the new caps I bought to replace the bad cap or is there a difference? The only difference is the voltage but I thought someone here said it was ok to change voltage as long as you don't go backwards.

    Thanks

      Audio Linear Power Supply (LPS)
      by Bugmanscj
Hi: Found this forum fumbling over the net looking for replacement capacitors for a high quality 2uv ripple model Kaia, Core Audio Technology LPS. I bought it used on fleabay and figured I would have to recap and sure enough one of the 22,000uf 35V 105c caps is bulging. These supplies were made briefly around 2014 for MAC Mini audio servers, and were quite costly at the time ($1.7k), you know it's audio... I will use it for a video processor power supply to replace a switched version. I figure it's a low cost attempt to see/hear what difference it might make in my system. Plus I get to learn...

I have bought computer switching power supplies from Electronic Goldmine before and every one of them the capacitors were bloated and or leaking out of the capacitors so I am sure that these are going to be the same way five or six years ago I had bought some 300 and 350 watt computer switching power supply from Electronic Goldmine these are all from FSP brand

Here is the listing for this switching power supply they only had three of them in stock and I bought all three of them

Another project idea for a battery bought from Battery Hookup with a good BMS board
      by sam_sam_sam
      https://batteryhookup.com/products/n...-2900mah-cells

One note these battery packs are below 10 volts and the BMS protection board has locked them off from having any voltage on the BMS output wires I have tested three of them so far and voltage is around 8 volts it not an issue because it testing about 9.2 amp hours

The price of this offer has gone up sense I bought these two boxes

I bought two boxes of these batteries but there is a catch to the these battery packs

The BMS protection board does work but it...

HP Envy 15 AS-105 random shutdown. (Core I7-th gen 2017)

      Hello folks.

I bought this machine brand new. It ran fine for nearly 6 years. Lately, it has been plagued with random shut downs without warning and I have nearly pulled my remaining hair out trying to troubleshoot the issue.

I have no electronics knowledge though if anyone can guide in the right direction this would be awesome.

      Description:

----System will randomly turn off. There is no specific timing. Sometimes it can run normally for a couple of days without the issue but once it starts; it becomes more frequent, and then it sort...

      Did I just bought a fakecap ?
      by xnRS
Today I bought... I mean friend of mine bought capacitors that I ordered, as the shop where i bought it is too far away from me, as he isn't understands anything in electronics, he just bought it as I ordered. At first shop on their page showed 1800uf 6.3V Sanyo caps, with generic picture and code SY-1800(which isn't correct). After little bit of search I found out that it was WG 8X20 capacitors(p.s found that out before buy). Ok, ordered, next day friend gives me package with those caps and some other caps that I ordered. But... This were NOT the Sanyo WG, these were Panasonic(Matsushita) FL...
