Speakers from computer cases - each goes to the Speaker connector on a motherboardbetter to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubtComment

the top photo is rubish,
it looks like glass or mesh.
if it was just a hole then yes, electret mic.
but if it's mesh it could be a sensor - maybe for a gas.
