need datasheets or how to figure ESR and RC

I have some thin clients that need the power supply recapped but I can't find the datasheets for these caps

    Jamicon 8mm x 15mm 1000uf 6.3v WG series

also in the same spot on different power supply

    Teapo 8mm x 15 mm 1000uf 6.3v SD series

can anyone help with those datasheets??

Just use Low ESR caps all PSUs should use them on the secondaries although some companies to cut corners use General Purpose caps.

Panasonic FCs are a good example of low ESR caps good for power supply use.

It's not unheard of for crap cap manufacturers not to have datasheets for every series or not to release it online if it exists.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Jamicon WG table doesn't list 6.3v but their next (but not much) better grade [WL] lists:
      ESR .069, Ripple 950 for 8mm x 15mm 1000uf 6.3v
      -
      FC does not have a 6.3v 8mm 1000uF and the FC 6.3v 10mm isn't rated well enough.
You'd have to go with the 10v 8x20mm 1000uF FC to get ESR/Ripple comparable to the Jamicon.
      - That's IF the height will work for you.

Teapo SD series is obsolete, no table.
I'm guessing it's not rated as good as the Jamicon.

If the height works then the 10v FC would be fine to replace both.
If the height doesn't work then the Nichicon HE and Chemicon KY series' both have an 8x15mm that will work.

ok so here is the plan the above cap will be replaced with a Panasonic 1000uf 10v FC series 8x20 (with a little room to spare)X4

        also on this board

        teapo 470 uf 10v 8x11 SC
        replacing with Pan 470uv 10v 8x11.5 FM X2

and Jamicon 220uf 25v WG<--used ESR and RC for the WL series
        replacing with Pan 220uf 25v 8x11.5 FM X1

for a total of 7 caps per power supply X about 100 units (should be a pro by the time I'm done)

Those caps look like good replacements PCBonez???

Panasonic FM are better than FC so they are a good replacement.

Of digikey's normal standard stock series':
            FC better than LXZ, LXY
            PW = FC
            HE, KY better than FC
            KZE better than HE, KY
            FM better than KZE
            .
FM is Digikeys top grade without going to Solid Polymer.

Well the caps came in yesterday.......20 units recapped and counting......you guys have been a huge help, I can't thank you enough. at this point I have saved the company $2000, the repair place was charging us $100 a unit to repair these power supplies.....I just knew there was a cheaper alternative.

Jamicons and Teapos are not necessarily the worst caps that you could find in PSUs of this kind - I've found them in Enhance units that have been running fine for a decade. It could be normal aging and dryout.

Aqueous KZEs have had some issues related to aging, heat and ripple-current in VRMs; however Pansonic FMs should be fine as replacements.

I'm really tired of hearing this because it's bogus.

Chemicon KZE and Rubycon ZL and Rubycon MBZ all have the same water content as can be seen by their -40 to +105 C temp ranges.

If what you say is true then MBZ would be crap in VRM's.
                    - Is that what you are saying?

Further, KZE and ZL are virtually identical in all respects and both are recommended by their manufacturers for use in SMPS's.

                      Additionally
Panasonic FM has the same -40 to +105 C temp range as KZE and so are of the same Aqueous nature as KZE, ZL, and MBZ.

KZE, MBZ, FM are all aqueous, for sure, but I'm not sure about ZL - it's somewhere in between. As for durability, there have been KZE, HD and MCZ failures in VRMs; while MBZ, FM and FJ failures are rare, if at all. I haven't ever heard of a ZL failure, but then again, they aren't commonly used in high-ripple, high-temperature applications.

In short: there are differences in electrolyte composition among aqueous electrolytics, which have a significant bearing on their endurance and durability in certain applications.

                          Exactly:
                          >> there are differences in electrolyte composition <<

Aqueous [the water content] is -NOT- it.
So stop calling it out like it is.

                          MBZ and FM are Aqueous.
That alone disproves your theory by the simple fact that you contradict yourself.

Aqueous has nothing to do with it.
The other constituents in the electrolytes do.
                          .
