    Cap series? voltage?

Do you have to replace a cap with the same series or can i replace an EB series cap with a FC series cap?

If I cant find the right voltage do I use the closest one up or lower?

If I neet to replace a 16v and only can find 10v or 25v what one would i use?

You can use a different series, just check that ESR, ripple current and temperature are similar or better than the series you are replacing

    >If I cant find the right voltage do I use the closest one up or lower?

It depends: to be sure you must check or you must know what voltage is applied: on VRM output you can find 10V caps but you can use 6.3V without problem and vice versa, it is important that the replacement has the same or lower ESR and the same or greater value let's say +20%.
On the last parameter (value) there are different opinion AFAIK so don't increase uF too much.

For sure you must use 25V otherwise the cap blown up!!

If you read some posts you will learn much more about these questions.

      Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
      by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

PCB Layer to layer short on a low voltage power plane - how to find it?
      by Prott
      Hello!
Recently I have a problem finding a dead short (as far as my cheap multimeter is concerned) on a multilayered (12 layer) PCB. It is caused due to mechanical stress (warping the board and, I assume, cracking inner layers). Injecting voltage of 0.9 V (operational voltage of that part of the circuit) and drawing 0.5 W doesn't cause any visible hotspot on a thermal camera.

Does anybody have any tips & tricks in order to locate the short more or less precisely? The area has a lot of powerplanes, so it's both blessing and a curse.

Silly idea no. 1: Can I...
