If you look in the PSU Build Quality Pictorial thread, I've posted pictures of my most recent dead PSU. Also there is a close-up picture of one of the leaking Teapo caps, taken just after the PSU was removed from the PC.
Now, here's the strange thing. That particular Teapo cap is still leaking, even though the PSU hasn't been connected to mains since I opened it up! The day it was taken out of service, the cap had a small dot of electrolyte on the top as shown in the photo. The next day, the bottom channel of the Y-vent was full of dried electrolyte. I've just looked at it again, and now all three channels of the Y are full of electrolyte!
As a matter of fact, one of the other bulged caps is now showing a tiny dot of electrolyte on the top as well. Do bad caps continue to leak long after the power has been removed? Is there any other explanation for the leakage?
