[QUOTE=Cartel;630975]Should ESR be closer to 0 ohms or high ohms?
    A 100uf 16V cap is showing 0.80
Is that bad? Would 1.0ohms be better or worse?

On a esr /low ohms meter a 100uf 16v cap should read about 0.7, a 100uf 25v cap should read about 0.32, as the voltage of the cap increases the esr progressively decreases. Your cap appears to be ok but change it if you are unsure. Esr does not always identify faulty caps as they do not place them under working loads. Hope this helps.

It's fine for that type of capacitor. Those are not high temp, low ESR caps as what is needed for SMPS applications, and although they are marketed as audio caps they're basically general purpose capacitors. Typical ESR range for general purpose caps 100uF @ 16v is 0.7 to 1.6 ohms according to a couple of reference charts.

somethings telling me 0.22-1.1 is good...not sure though
