    Nippon Chemi-Con LXY

Recapped one Abit BP6 with Nippon Chemi-Con LXY series capacitors (the owner of the board bought them). The board worked just fine after that. Just wanted to know what the experts here think of these caps? Are they OK or should I avoid them in the future and go for Panasonic FC/Sanyo MV-WX (seem to be the only ones that I get for reasonable price in my corner of the world) instead?

    Thank you in advance,
    s

Nippon and Sanyo are one in the same. Never had any trouble with them. Can usually be found a lot cheaper than grossly overpriced Panasonics.

      Thank you.
There's no significant price difference here.

Recap motherboards :: Abit KG7-LITE and Soltek SL-75FRN2-L
        by Foetuss
        Hi all

Hope this is in the correct place.

I'm planning on recapping both motherboards. I actually already ordered recplament caps for them, where I will be changing out most for poly's.
Could use some double checking to see if I'm not doing something stupid .

Pictures of the boards are attached.
What I will be replacing with what : (planned)

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
        by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

        Abit BE6-II motherboard
        by ziplock
        Greetings,

I have an Abit BE6-II motherboard that posts sporadically with the bare minimum components installed - CPU, RAM, PSU, and a Keyboard. I know it posts when the speaker beeps. Re-seating the components has no effect.

I thought the sporadic posting might be capacitor related. Upon inspection, non of the caps are bulged or leaking and they are all original. So, I pulled them ALL. While the ESR is OK, over half of them are leaking current between 1 and 2 mA. The biggest offenders are way out of spec, like a 1500uf / 6.3V measuring 2600uF and many of the 820uF caps...

        Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
        by toddw65
        Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

        Thanks,...
