    Assistance needed in identifying cap.

These cap's come from a Russound multi room amp. One has gone to its maker. Unfortunately I can't identify the type and value of the cap.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

those arent caps, they are polyfuses - self resetting fuses.
if one failed you probably have a more serious problem.

it's more likely they are both fine - why do you think one failed?

There are a total of 4 of them, One has burnt out / exploded. Could have been a power surge or heat build up over time. So want to try and replace the one that exploded.

dont, not till you check if the circuit it feeds is shorted.

Thanks for putting me on the right track. The polyfuses are connected / part of the interface for external keypads. It could have easily been a keypad that short circuited it (faulty wiring).

I just read up on them and the value would be:

          Max V: 30 V
          Hold current 1.35 A

          Do you concur?

          Thanks

            Just an update,

I replaced the polyfuse, and still have an issue with the appliance. After replacing I still get the same error message (no controller, its a Russound CAV6.6). Apparently more damage was done than just blowing the polyfuse with the short or power-surge on a aux port.

            Thanks again for you assistance.

watch your fingers, polyfuses work by heating up - you can burn your fingers on them.

                Indeed.

I've heard of polyfuses burning out before (they aren't supposed to do that, and I'm not sure why they do that sometimes).

Check to make sure that the new fuse is still OK (You didn't say if you checked it after getting the same error message issue)

Start by checking some power supply voltages, check regulator voltages, etc...
Do you now have voltage at the polyfuse that you replaced?

Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 14IRP8 - help identifying what exploded in the motherboard
                  by iminusjk
                  Hello everyone,
I hope this finds you doing well.

I need some help identifying what and how important is that exploded in my laptop's motherboard.
                  Photos attached.

                  My laptop is a 1 month old Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 14IRP8 (83BU), i9-13905H, RTX4070, 64 GB ram.
It was in the charger, and I was excited to play FC24 for the first time, but when the loading screen came something exploded in the laptop and it shut down.
It didn't turn on for about 30 seconds after that, but then it turned on and has been working seemingly perfectly (at least I didn't notice...

Help identifying a chip for Lenovo Slim 7 16IAH7 - schematics needed
                  by trepachka
I have this Lenovo Slim 7 16IAH7 notebook that is not booting properly. All voltages are there: 5v, 3.3v, 1.8v but it's still a no-go.

I spotted this IC chip with markings "6611c" on it. The coil near this chip measures around 200 Ohms which I think is too low. But without the schematics, it's just a guess.

I wonder if someone has the schematics for this board or perhaps, can help me identify this particular ship. Thanks....

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 Needed help with identifying charging IC
                  by sofles
                  Hi there,

Recently I bought broken Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2, the problem with them is that battery discharges on its own even with headphones turned off. It is a quite common issue with this model and even with model higher PX8.

With help of thermal camera I found out that there is one IC that is hot even with headphones turned off. To check if I'm correct I bought another PX7 S2 working one and replaced small charging board with this IC and problem solved, battery no more drains on its own. After changing board back to original problem returned so I'm 100% sure problem...

Quicko T12-955 Repair (Board Rev 3.3): Help identifying components needed
                  by MyBrainIsAStrainer
Hello! I'm newbie-ish in electronics and hope you can help me.

I use a Quicko (or Quecoo, not sure which is correct) T12-955 soldering station as my daily driver. Recently, I had a mishap. While changing tips, the metal contact inside the handle got bent and must have shorted against some other contact. Since then, the station only shows "Error" on its display. I fixed the bent contact but the error didn't go away. In fact, now it's completely dead.

After opening it, I found obvious two faults: A chip that looked molten (U5), and another chip which got very...
