I need a replacement series “KY” and KZE for 10uf @ 50 volt what series would replace them discontinued status

I need to order some because my parts bin is getting very low on this value
Thanks to anyone that can help

Dig key is out of stock and so is Mouser Electronics is also out of stock as well

I found some from a eBay seller that shows the box that 3000 of them are boxed in I think I should be alright buying them from this seller

KY should be pretty easy, Panasonic FC and Rubycon YXJ/YXH should be suitable replacements, as should Nichicon UHE though they're showing as "obsolete" but still in stock so they may not be available much longer.

KZE is a bit trickier, Rubycon ZL would pretty much be direct replacements, but they look like they're on their way out too (showing obsolete and low/no stock). Panasonic FR-A is lower impedance but probably the closest as far as "current production" goes as long as the height difference isn't an issue (8mm on the KZEs vs. 12.5mm on the FR-As).

IIRC, Nichicon's HD series is equivalent to KY series, and the HE series is equivalent to the KZE series, in terms of impedance. However it looks like some parts in the two series have been discontinued. Nichicon's PA series is very close in impedance to the HE series, though I do not know how readily available that series is (not discontinued, just not as popular).

The ones I listed in my post above appeared to be the closest equivelents/near equivelents that were available in that voltage/capacitance (10uf 50v) on Digikey of course other suppliers may have additional options as well at least for the time being until their stock draws down. Unfortunately, low-esr electrolytics are becoming more of an endangered species everyday, especially in the more "odd-ball" sizes.

            it's 10uF,
i would be more concerned with finding the highest ripple current and lifespan than esr matching

I like to stay as close to the values of either the “KZE” or “KY” because I use them in all of the switching power supplies that I have worked on or just have recapped because I have had very good experience with them

Well I bought 400 of them and it should last me for many years to come because they are very common value in the switching power supply that I have recapped over the years

                  400 is nothing,
i just put more than 40 into a scope i'm rebuilding

Do you have a picture that you can post of the scope that you are rebuilding

i can take a few - infact i should, these are so fucking rare there is no real data online about them and 4 threads online in 20 years!!!
(one is mine - 200 views on eevblog with no replies!)

i'll take some pics over the weekend now it's running and create a thread for it
i got real lucky, it was half full of smd electrolytics that had leaked, but the boards are designed to also take throughhole caps.
so now it has about 90 new panasonic caps in it!
thankfully for cost reasons, most are only 10uf!

I am buying some more KY in these values 1 , 2.2 , 4.7 , 22uf @ 50 volts from the same eBay seller I have received my first order from them these value are low in my parts bin now

I have plenty of 33 , 39 , 47 , 56uf @ 50 volts one that I had bought when recapping servo drives for a company that I still do work for them from time to time

I might buy some 47uf @ 50 volt ones because I use a lot of them in switching power supply I have a lot of 63 volts one that I can use instead of 50 volts one but the same eBay seller offers them so I probably will buy some of as well

Here is the seller who I am buying and talking about

                              https://www.ebay.com/itm/13144109159...4AAOSwpDdU8Khu

I think this might be a case where the eBay seller is one who has bought over stock which is usually “New Old Stock” and discontinued stock I have looked at capacitors on eBay before but they have not shown the box that they came which this seller has done and the price that this particular seller has them at very close to what Digikey or Mouser had them at before they were discontinued

Most of the time when I have seen other sellers offer capacitors they do not share how they were obtain and I would be suspicious of whether or not they are fake or are they real and they have very low quantities of them which then even more suspicious of weather or not are fakes and when you look at there feedback sometimes you see that buyer's complaint that they are fakes and there ratings is less than 98%

I also buy capacitors from Electronic Goldmine also but I know how this company works they buy over stock and discontinued items so I am not suspicious of them and what they do my only complaint with them is that sometimes they do not provide the series but they do show a picture of them and most of the time you can see this information

One trend I am seeing on eBay is that there is a good number of companies that are selling on eBay more so then what I have seen in the past here a case in point the battery backups that I recently bought was from a recycling company that has a store front on eBay

A picture is a thousand words it can speak volumes yes you can be burned but it it is less likely to happen the more accurate information the seller has in there description I am not suggesting that deception can not happen especially if you are very good con artist and photo shop the pictures and the likely hood for very little money it is highly unlikely that this is the case but if you very high volume of merchandise yes this is possible you can never be completely protect yourself from being burned but you limit yourself exposure to it

Well my capacitor orders are here and now my 1 , 2.2 , 4.7 , 10 , 22uf now the container is really full now I can barely close it
200 of each one except for the 10uf one that was is 400 of them it will take quite a few years to get low again

( Not all of the values above are KY) some are “KY” some are “KMG” and one other series but I do not remember which one

I have plenty of the 33 , and 39uf one because of recapping servo drives this a popular value for this type of drive these series are what ever the manufacturer used if I could find them or something that is equivalent to that series

I still need to order some 47uf one probably 400 of them some 56uf probably 100 of them these will be my next order

                                  Some 100uf , 220uf , 330uf , 470uf , 1000uf , 1500uf , 2200uf what ever the smallest quantity that they offer

I have several containers with different UF values and voltages different series different sizes and just a bunch of hodgepodge I would be lucky to have more three of any type or size or length and what ever else and some of them are over stock or UF values that were not very popular or 50 volt 85*C I have a bunch of 100uf@50 volt ones that are fat and short they sometimes come in handy when I am height restricted in a device I do not remember the series they are but I have used them if they fit there are a lot of 6.3 volt and 10 volt ones and 16 volt ones of different sizes UF value and there times when they come in handy as well

I have two boxes of switching power supply that are different voltages and some miscellaneous voltages ones that I need to recap but I have been reluctant to do them because I was really low on some low value capacitors and that when I got the email from Digkey that the 10uf@50 volt ones “KY” series was being discontinued and when I went to there website they were already out of stock so then I went searching for some and that is when I saw this eBay seller selling them

I also have some switching power supplies that are from work that probably need to be recapped them as well I will be using quite a few of them in next month or so I have no reason for not doing them and getting them done and out of my hair
