    Identify some caps

Need data for the following caps:
Panasonic FJ: seems like no data sheet is available EDIT: ok fixed
Chemi-con KZG: 6,3 V 820 uF 8x24 mm can't find one in that series with that size
    Chemi-con OS-CON: what, don't sanyo do theses? Anyway, I can't find a datasheet. 10x11 mm
Fujitsu: thought it was FJ but i can't find a 2.5 V one there. 8x8 mm
Turquoise test on aluminum one: no idea, most likely polymer 8x12 mm
Fujitsu: I don't know the series 8x12 mm

    Thank you for any help.

    Re: Identify some caps

Panasonic FJ datasheet located here hosted by one of our members: https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...598d4af80c.pdf

I've noticed that all of the KZG datasheets are pretty old, or that was a custom sized cap. I'd just replace it with a 1000uF 6.3V cap to be safe

That yellow Fujitsu cap should be fine, were you planning on replacing it?

That OS-CON may just be a re-sleeved Sanyo

That blue polymer is UCC PS series https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...0a13cd593c.pdf

That red Fujitsu poly is probably RE series

      Re: Identify some caps

      1. Panasonic FJ , datasheet here
      2. UCC KZG , datasheet here but you're right, weird to be 24mm tall for such low capacitance/voltage
      3. yeah, ucc has or had an OS-CON brand at some point... see the datasheets in this folder, one of those may be it.
      4. this is fujitsu before it was bought by nichicon, see this folder
      5. united chemi con (from logo and color), polymer, ps something series (they have psa, pswhatever)
      6. fujitsu fpcap around 2006-2007 / probably before it was bought and became nichicon fpcap, most likely re series something, r5 for example is here

maaan... i have to sort out the collection of datasheets

No I am not replacing any of these, I just want to know the specs. I like to look at electronics and see how good the design and parts choice is.

United Chemi Con makes great quality capacitors but they screwed up with KZG series, it's actually quite a problematic one, a large percent go bad after a few years.

The people here consider it bad, replace on sight, and UCC themselves have discontinued it.

Is this Rubycon fake? IT seems like the bung would be made of something like fr2. never seen any bung like it. It's 18x21 mm.
The other cap 10x20 mm. I'm not sure what the 'I' means and what brand/model it is.

It would help if you'd post pictures.

Yes, some large capacitors can use a sort of pcb like material at the bottom.

I makes me think of Illinois Capacitors but without pictures I can't tell.

Sorry, I meant to upload them but apparently just pressing the upload button is not enough.

                  Re: Identify some caps

In the last picture, that's not an I, that's just how Nichicon likes to tell you that side is the NEGATIVE of the capacitor, on some capacitors series of capacitors. The top is cut (or I should say the metal is slightly weakened) in the form of a + as a vent release mechanism (to let gasses get out if needed instead of blowing up from pressure)

The circle bent to one side is the logo for Nichicon. HD tells you the series of capacitors so you can get the specs from datasheet.

As for Rubycon capacitor, yes, that type of material was common in the past. That's an old series of capacitors, rated only for 85c and generic, nothing special about it (well, nowadays, compared to newer series of capacitors)

When? I still see them, with manufacturing dates of quite long after it was very well known what PoS it is.

mariushm: is this non-sleeved version catalogized or custom? It looks like polymer but in fact is ordinary HD, I have also seen other series in this package. I know some manufacturers make one model line in multiple packages but not sure with Nichicon.

Also these does not seem to be of much good quality. It seems those SMD caps in the ViewSonic VP211b I have been troubleshooting are Nichicon. Most of the small ones were bad but even after replacing most of them with incredible ESR, the display didn't come to life.
