Anyone know about these? Have a small Archer 4 channel amp (2 front, 2 rear) that are full of these, so far only had one bad one on the front left output (causing low volume on that speaker). Using this amp to drive some undereave mounted speakers

Re: Delcon caps
Speaker coupling cap from the amp output to the speaker terminal?
If so, keep in mind that you'll need a cap whose ripple current rating is the same as the speaker current. Use Ohm's law, speaker impedance, and output power to arrive at this.
Are those caps gray in color, with "Japan" or "JAPAN" printed on their sleeve, by any chance?"pokemon go... to hell!"
EOL it...

by momakaI know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.
For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

by DelicieuxzI'm recapping an old Creative Labs / Cambridge speaker system / subwoofer. At 4:33 in this video, the person looking at what he says are the speaker caps in the system says they are 470 uF, and that he'd use much larger caps if he was building it.
https://youtu.be/1LRIzePlma0?t=273
I'm wondering if I should use something larger for the recap job, and what using larger caps will do for it.
Would 680uF be good value to try in place of the 470uF originals?-

by eryjusHello,
First, I am a complete noob with high voltage stuff. I'm learning, but I need help by someone looking over my shoulder.
I recently came into posession of a Heathkit IO-4205 5MHz Dual Trace Oscilloscope. The documentation is copyright 1978. I'm told it works.
I opened it up to check the caps before I applied power, and found the following black caps and wanted to know what they were. They are on the power supply board. I was able to read the name and model and came up with, "Nytronics 162J-1, 0.1uF, 20% tolerance, 2000VDC."

by captain150I'm trying to repair two old VCRs, they both have bad caps. One has leaky ones, the other would barely run until I subbed in some caps from another power supply I had laying around (though they are the wrong values). This vcr works for an hour or two, but then the power supply starts whining and the picture gets lines in it. I didn't replace all the secondary caps, so another voltage might still be problematic, or the values I used are too far off.
I've been on mouser and digikey but the options are a bit overwhelming. I just need some new ones that will work. They don't need to be top quality,...-

by budwichDid a "gross" impedance measurement of the inputs on my polk csi40 center channel speaker. It showed about 4ohms. Seemed kind of low. There are two midrange drivers and one twitter ... 2 way system.
All measurements at the drivers seem ok in the 4 - 6 ohm range (the two mid range are in series).
Anyway, in the crossover on the tweeter side, there are two caps in parallel basically leaving an inductor .... "nice simple setup", especially when no schematics around. The question is finding a replacement. One is a TI .47uf met 100vdc while other is a 9.1uf...-
