    power problem? your knowledge needed..

Just a quick pointer - I have a 42" Alba just over 2yrs old and it was all fine working until my son tried changing the scart lead when it was powered on.
Now not a thing no lights standby or any other - on opening to check for bulging caps etc seen 2 I guess fuseable resistors cermeric type burnt out on this psu 17pw26-3 replaced and still no power and no obvious bad caps but I was just woundering would a power surge from adjusting the scart cause a fault on the main board thus blowing these resistors - limited in understanding but I will check the power from the psu is at the passover pins to the main board ?? any advice first if this power fail has been seen before thanks for any help..

There is probably a fuse on this board - near the mains lead - it is possibly a small cylinder shape doesnt look like a fuse - designated F800 F600 F100 will have some writing nearby saying 240v 2 A or whatever - did you find it/test it?

The resistors by the way are grey in colour and 1cm ish long r830 colour code orange - orange - silver - gold and r829 is yelloe - purple - silver - gold.. just for info what type are these .. thanks again..

Not a clue - I dont have a background in electronics I am just picking up bits of information here and there and pass on when appropriate. If you look at this post www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16911 you will see this series of power boards are a minefield.
If you need full help with your TV you will need to post pictures of the top and bottom of the boards. We need to be able to read the part numbers on the boards and they should be jpg no bigger than 2 mb and no bigger than 2000x 2000. Post them using manage attachments which is found by clicking on go advanced at the bottom of quick reply.
A bit of information about your abilities and the tools you have
helps - have a look at some other posts - use the search facility- you will soon see what info you need to provide to get the best help. Resistors- depends what you mean I can look up the values but guess you did that if you have replaced -wattage is based on physical size. The body colour varies with manufacturer.

By the way that fuse will be 3.15 amps 250v

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Intel Arc A380 videocard power limit remove - BIOS needed
                by iulik17d
                Hello everyone!
The Asrock A380 low profile card (ID 8086 56A5 - 1849 6006) have an power limit of 45W. Intel removed the possibility to increase power using the software utility, anyway the card is in an proxmox machine that doesn't run windows.
The same hardware is in another form by the name Asrock A380 Challenger that have the same VRMs and the power limit is at 60W. I searched online and found on another website an .bin bios file from the Challenger variant, that I flashed using an CH341a. Flashng worked well, I put the card in PC and booted. GPUz shows that new device ID is 8086...
