    Stress tests and burn-in utilities

I read at https://www.badcaps.net/repair/ the following:

When it first arrives I connect it to my test jig, and run it through a battery of stress tests before I do ANYTHING to the board. ...
I then replace them with high-quality NEW capacitors. ...
Using several popular burn-in utilities, I run it through a 72-hour constant burn-in cycle. ...If it can pass my testing, there's not much more that one can dish out that it can't handle beyond the motherboard's design specs.
I'd like to know what stress tests and burn-in utilities are recommended for determining if the board has a problem.

    Thank you,
    Steve Smith

    Welcome to the forums!!

I use a testing/burn-in utility called The Troubleshooter v7.02 for the first day. I then boot it off a hard drive loaded with XP Pro Corporate Edition and run SiSoft Sandra Professional 2004 (the FULL version with burn-in utilities) for the remaining 2 days. During the entire 3 day process, the motherboard is in a confined space with limited air flow. This makes things run hotter tham most normal PC conditions, adding even more stress.

If it passes that abuse with out hiccuping, it's safe to assume that the board has been repaired. Typically, if a board is going to fail, it will usually do so within the first few hours of testing.

I hope that clears things up.

      DAG7ELMBAC0 motherboard windows crashes.
      by Francisco.s
Hello everyone, have a HP laptop with DAG7ELMBAC0 motherboard that crashes when booting windows.
With a pen-drive with Linux or hiren's is the same, only with ms-dos programs run without problems.
It passes all ms-dos memory tests, and also all Pccheck 6.1 tests. (some tests not run properly because are not designed for new CPU)
Same with other bios and other ddr4 module.

I have disconnected the vcore rails from GPU in order to test with only internal Intel graphics, to no avail.

In the past I've had the same problem, but due to corrosion near kbc chip,...

      PSU killing components?
      by grss1982
      Hi everyone! Been a while!

So I have a CM MWE 750 Bronze - V2 PSU powering the following:

      Ryzen 5 3400G
      Gigabyte B450 Auorus Motherboard
      32GB DDR4-3600 (2x16)
      ASUS TUF 1660 TI 6GB DDR6
      1TB NVME

This was purchased by a friend about 3 years ago for her kid and now it showing signs of instability. The PC had this problem of the screen becoming garbled after it was booted up and idling in Windows. It also sometimes gets a BSOD. So I did some stress test by starting with Prime 95 and noticed that the torture test just fails and stops immediately....
