Need help identifying a capacitor from my HP laptop

    hey guys first time here,

i have a MAJOR problem at the moment, a capacitor that was sitting next to my CMOS battery was too loose and fell off in my DV6 3160us, i have it however places around where i live are willing to replace it but i need to know which capacitor i need exactly, i know its 2.5v but i need more info on it, and is it fixable? seems theres no other damage done besides of it falling out and plus the laptop is still being charged its just it refuses to boot up however power LED still responds, but anyways it should be an easy soldering job from the professionals right? i sure hope so, help me out, thanks!

Here are some of the pictures of that capacitor

on the last pic the black thing is the base of where the capacitor sits and it fits around that white box with the 2 connectors on the third pic

    also one more thing

is this capacitor surface mount? or through hole?

to me it looks more of a surface mount

That's a thru hole polymer but it mounts as SMD. That's what that little plastic base is for.

        2.5V 390uF Enesol Enecap.

Unfortunately, they don't mark their caps with the series, so there's no way of knowing what the ESR is. Unfortunately, it looks like one of the leads has been torn out, so it can't even be measured. Yes, it's surface mount, but you can solder a through hole cap to the leads and then lay it on its side.

It's SMD. The leads were bent at right angles through the plastic base until it "fell off". No through holes on the PC board, just SMD pads.

Measure the dimensions. Go to digikey.com, type "390uf 2.5v smd radial can" in the Part Search box, and pick one that's in stock from the results. 493-3818-1-ND looks right or 565-3160-1-ND has a higher ripple but minimum order of 5.

They're not too hard to solder. Make sure the replacement is oriented the same way as the silkscreen shows.

thanks, is there a way i can remove the bits of the leads from the board? because the leads of the base is stuck on the board as you can tell from the 3rd image

Use a soldering iron to remove the old leads. Don't try this repair as your first SMD experience. Find a scrap board and remove and replace one of the caps on it first.

Question, when replacing it it HAS to be the EXACT one right? 390uF 2.5v? nothing more nothing less? because this motherboard has two 390Uf 2.5v capacitors and one of them is still attached

It's safest to use an exact replacement. Make sure the physical dimensions match, too.

                    RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor

Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

I am looking for capacitor & Inductor values for my TOSHIBA Qosmio X500-110 - mobile graphics - Nvidia GTS 250M Laptop.

                    Values for :-
                    =========
                    PC43 : Capacitor [3x1.5mm]
                    PL7 : Inductor [2x1mm]
                    PC39 : Capacitor [1x0.5mm]

                    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can get Capacitor values from nearby components but wanted to know the max ratings also I dont have equipment to measure inductors....

MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX (MS-16R6) LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON AFTER RESTARTING
                    by RdeveLabs
                    To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
