    Chemicon or not?

Checking out a ballast I have, can't figure out what make this cap is. If it's Chemicon, it's the first I've seen to date without a name on it. It does have the traditional CC gray band on the side, but so do fakes. 350V 20-40uf.

      That's not a chemi-con. It's a panny
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

One of my friends brought to me this Projector after he missed up with the ballast. its Digital UART serial Bus function.
          He told:
he was trying to trace the serial bus code with USB Logic on 2CH TX & RX. he used to soldering the CH wire to PIN 1 of 2 optocoupler PC123, and as soon he switched the projector ON, he heard once at time crack noise. result his logic went dead & the projector shutdown and give blinking led error.. and always his projector wont start any more register same error all 3 LED power lamp Temo blinking Red.

My cheap crappy 1KW grid tie inverter (GTI) seems to keep blowing IGBTs. When I first got it, it had two failed IGBTs. It used four 60N100's (TO264). I bought 5 from a dubious source (fleabay) and replaced just the two that were dead. The GTI worked for almost two years but recently one of the two that I replaced failed. Since I had three spares, I replaced the dead one. Then a few weeks later it failed again. Weird. Well since I bought dubious China-sourced IGBTs from fleabay it could very well just be a mixture of fakes. I replaced it, but then a day later it failed again! I put in the last...

          Replacement Chemicon SMG caps
          by hansy
          Hi All,

Ive just pulled apart a bowers & wilkins sub.
The power board is covered in crappy chemi con SMG series caps. A couple are leaking and some others have ESR levels above manufacturer spec.

Please any advice would be dearly appreciated. I want an alternative at least 105degrees longer life caps (the smg are 85 degrees 2000hrs)
Ive been reading and getting more confused, ppl saying you need to match the same ESR and spec correctly.

Ive attached pics - the little black caps are the SmG - not sure if i need low esr caps or general...
