    iMac a1224 Power Supply ADP-17AF B Schematic

    Hello!
A friend of mine fried his iMac's PSU when connecting an old monitor.

The price and availability of this PSU made him ask me to take a look.
    Does anyone have this schematic?

    Model : ADP-170AF B

    Thanks!

    DELTA ADP-170AF.

Did some one work on it before? I see the two rectifiers are missing.
Is it completely dead? Do you get any DC right at the two legs of the main filter cap in the primary side, this power supply also has PFC Voltage booster circuit.

      Yes, sorry, gonna correct it.

      Model : ADP-170AF B

The board was as new, it was me
Removed just one of them, the other is just lifted up.
      They are stps3045ct .
thought both had 2 junctions shorted (the 2 outter legs), but the one I removed seemed good out of the board, and both outter pads read shorted without rectifier on place.
Gonna put in on his place if I get schematic.

Gonna try tomorrow to supply power to it and mesure DC on the black big capacitor right? between the two pins of the cap.
Just to be sure to mesure the right thing...

      Thanks!

They are Common Cathode Rectifier that are connected in parallel for half wave rectifier circuit that is why the two outer pins are tied together.

BTW, can you read the P/N on the SMD ICs: IC31, IC32?

Ok.So they are OK. gonna put him on his place.
Check. Gonna try to feed the unit tomorrow and post DC result.

            IC31 - DAP017
            PAF726G
            IC32- DAP015D
            9083724

So I made also some more mesurings and here are the results I collected.
I took some pics identifying the components I mesured , still they dont match the PCB markings, cause some of them arent at sight.

            D1 - 0.7
            D2 - shorted both ways
Q1 - outter 2 contacts shorted both ways
with COM on middle contact, present 0.7 to both outter contacts.
Q2 - outter 2 contacts present 1.3 one way and reverse open.
with COM on middle contact, present 0.88 to the right contact and open to the left contact (following the contacts in the photo)

Q3 and Q4 presented the same readings and seemed all good.

Now , should I remove D2 and see if the short is gone on Q1?
If not remove Q1 and test it?

            Thanks again!

"Now , should I remove D2 and see if the short is gone on Q1?
If not remove Q1 and test it?" I would remove them and test them off the board. Any one with suspicious readings I would remove and test it off the board.
By the way, did the main fuse blow?

Nope, the fuse is OK.he didnt blew.

Lifted 1 contact of D2 and he reads good off the board... 0.85 one way and open the opposite.

Q1 is still shorted both ways on the outter contacts ...
                  gonna remove it tomorrow...too tired
