PLP-60-48 Single Output LED Power Supply - "chirping" noise
    by tester001
    Dear Badcaps forum members,

Hope that you are all well!
I am a newbie on a mission to figure out the cause of the PSU making a "chirping" noise:

Having searched for this symptom online I have found some indication that failed capacitors may be an issue. To help with the troubleshooting, I have tried to isolate the problem and disconnected the PSU from the rest of the device - the chirping remained.
I have then found that the whole PSU (apart from a small add-on board) can be replaced, and there is even a datasheet for it: https://cdn.badc...

MacBook Pro Retina 820-00138 CPU chirping clicking
    by ACS-Repair
    Hello All,
I received a return from a sale I made a couple of months ago on a 2015 A1398 MacBook Pro. The report from the customer is that the computer does not startup.
What I found is that if I start it from cold, it comes up fine. If I then shut it off, wait 10 seconds, then try to start it up, it doesn't start. What I do hear is a couple of chirps coming from what I believe to be the CPU. At this point, I get all the main rails (PPBUS, 3.3, 5.0, 1.36, 3.42, 1.51, 1.05), but not CPU VCORE. This is whether the board is in or out of the shell.
    CPU resistance is 29 ohms....

Delta ADP-310AF No Power and frequently chirping
    by Hauke
    Hey guys,
I have got this iMac 2011 power supply which doesn't provide any voltage. It is repeatedly chirping about every 2 seconds.

I already checked the most common parts but did not find any bad component.

The weird thing is, as I was checking the PSU with my oscilloscope, the PSU suddenly started! The chirping was now continuous, but I got 12V on the secondary side.
This brings me to the idea, that this problem has to be with some passive component? I was told, that the iMac won't start anymore, but very rarely it started.

    Does anyone...

    SS-600ET PSU Chirping
    by skyblaster
I have a PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 600W that chirps constantly and increases in frequency along with load. At first I was convinced it was the fan, but the noise is there even with the fan disconnected.

I could upload an audio snippet somewhere, but it is the exact same sound found here (be careful with headphones): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0A-dxoFItQ

Based on a little Internet research, this model is supposedly based on the Seasonic SS-600ET platform (aka. Seasonic S12II Bronze): https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2011/...ooling-silence...

Wine cooler flickers at startup and doesn't cool enough
    by edugimeno
    Hi there!
I have an old wine bottle cooler, it's a basic peltier cell system with a power supply built in with the controller board, with a simple display at the front door and 2 push buttons to select the desired temperatura.
Symptoms are it doesn't barely cool down, and makes a chirping noise at the board.
Both fans on each side of the peltier are (now, after much cleaning) running smooth and silent
When you turn it on, the front 7-segment display flickers for a variable time, usually like 1 minute but sometimes nothing or 3 minutes... Then turn on solid (but still some...
