I am trying to remove a supervisor password from a Lenovo laptop by patching the BIOS dump. I have successfully read the SPI flash chip (Winbond W25Q128JV) using a CH341A programmer, but I am having trouble modifying the dump correctly.

My details:

• Laptop Model: 83ER Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15IAH8; S/n PF3SV3T5
• BIOS Chip: Winbond W25Q128JV
• Programmer: CH341A
• Problem: I cannot boot because of a forgotten supervisor password.

What I have tried:

1. I used a CH341A programmer with AsProgrammer to create a full backup of the BIOS (original_bios.bin).

I´ve this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15IAN8 with mainboard (KS480 / KS580) NM-E901 Rev 1.0
I receive it for repair from another shop and it had shorted EC IT8227VG-256
After replacing it and programming it with SVOD 4 (wich is new to me as I bought it in this week) the laptop is working fine now... BUT

Once power off from windows, it will not turn on again. When off and the power on button is pressed, a white led turns on and that´s it.
But if you plug the charger, then all the keyboard LEDs will lit and then you get image on screen and it boots normally....

Hi! I´ve a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15IAN8 Intel i3 CPU with a shorted SIO IT8227vg-256. I don´t have any programmer for KBC chips. So my question is, this SIO in this particular laptop, is something I just can replace with a blank new one and it will get programmed "by itself" or it´s a must program it as a lot of others SIO ICs? Thanks for clarifying...

Hello, the Ideapad Slim 3 15IAN8 laptop with an i3 processor and NM-E901 Rev 1.0 board used to start up sometimes, but when shutting down, the fan would stay on. I updated the BIOS from Windows using the original BIOS from Lenovo’s website, but now the screen stays black and the power LED keeps blinking. I tried using a BIOS file from another post, but it didn’t work....

Try only the 16MB BIOS first, the 8MB chip contains the ME region, extracting the BIOS from Lenovo website I can only get the file for 16MB chip
