I have a Dell Latitude 5420 stuck on the Dell Security Manager message on startup, I can't do anything.
Here is my BIOS and what I assume is ME (32MB for BIOS and 1MB for ME).
If someone could remove my BIOS password for me so I can reflash it afterwards.
It's an 8FC8.

Hi! I just bumped to this thread looking for answers on how to remove my Dell Latitude 5420 BIOS password. I am quite confused on how to do it. I can see that there's a patcher. I already saw a video how to use it.
From my understanding:
1. You just need to drag the "file" to the patcher
2. Patcher will do its trick
3. Patcher done its work

Where am I confused:
1. Where could I get the file?
2. On the video provided, didn't saw the password.
3. Do i need to open the laptop? Because in my case, I can't open the laptop since it was...

Its my own fault, I'm just hoping somebody can help and the laptop isn't bricked.

The BIOS chip is a 25rh256cxiq, I read it using neoprogrammer 2.2.0.10 but like a complete idiot didn't search the chip, it was set to the wrong chip, I read the BIOS, unlocked it, flashed the unlocked file and now the laptop is dead, won't even try to power on, only after I'd flashed it I realised the wrong chip was selected.

How stuffed am I? Is there a way to flash a generic Dell Latitude 5420 BIOS so I'm not stuck with a dead paper weight?

Can somebody advise if these BIOS dumps are correct please?

I read 3 in Asprogrammer with the correct 25rh256cxiq selected, the other I read in neoprogrammer with W25Q256FV selected.

When I compare them in a hex viewer they are all different, even the three dumped with asprogrammer, used a CH341A and WSON8 pogo.

The goal is to remove the admin password, however I don't want to even attempt it until I know these backups are good as I've already bricked my other 5420 tonight!

Can someone please help to generate a 'health' BIOS image for a Latitude 5420.

Chip is a Winbond 25R256JVEN wson8 - image dumped using RT809F with W25Q256FV settings as this chip isn't listed in the software (works apparently, have tried other recommended model settings, all with the same results).

Service Tag noted in file name.

It came with an XMC chip that I was forced to change because I needed it for another machine, but I made a backup of the BIOS, then I tried to put in a Winbound chip and it worked but it took a long time to turn on and it didn't recognize the SSDs, quite strange, I got another XMC chip and oh surprise now it was giving me colored screens, as if I had a corrupted ME, but if I try to clean the ME region it only gives me a black screen and 3 amber blinks and 6 white ones, I have tried...

I have received this laptop which was described as "does not power on or accept charge." Battery shows no sign of charging when charger is plugged in, nor does the board show any signs of life when battery is unplugged and charger is plugged in. No light from the LED at all or any other indications of activity.

Board seems to have no shorts, all power rails are fine and show high resistance.

When charger is plugged in, voltage is present in 3.3V rail but absent in others....

Sorry for this, but can you unlock again as attached file. Don't know why it was changed to 16MB, the file actually is 32MB as attached.
