I’m trying to recover my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-56, which currently has a corrupted BIOS and won’t boot. I’ve searched Acer’s website and all I can find is the official BIOS update .exe file.

Inside that .exe, I managed to extract a file called abobios.bin, but there is no .FD file available — the one needed for Acer Crisis Recovery.

I’m looking for someone who has the original .FD BIOS file for this exact model, or any guidance on how to extract it safely from the official update.

I need some help with this laptop please.

It came in, not turning on fully. When i press the power button, i get a blue power light briefly (19v 50mA shown on my power supply) and then it turn's off. With the battery connected it charges it fine (19v 1.6A).

Still shows the same symptoms with just the motherboard so i know it's a problem on the board. When first connecting the power without the battery connected i get 10ma briefly before going to 0ma so i believe the EC chip is fine (I could be wrong).

Hello, every time I turn on my Nitro 5 the fans constantly start running at maximum speed from 39°C.
Is it possible to make a change in the BIOS that allows me to control the fans from starting later or just correct the speed of the fans without them triggering for no reason??

Measure resistance to GND on all coils on ohms mode. Your dc-in circuit is fine and i think battery is charging-confirm its true or not. Presence of 3V/5V means the board is having atleast some form of life.

Look for corrosion and try to locate dc-dc converter for 3/5V ALW to 3/5V VS. Measure resistance to GND on input/output pins. Usually they are 14 PIN IC with 7 legs on each side. Pin1 & 7 should be input/8 &14 may be output.
