Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Capacitor Diarrhea - Nichicon PL Series
    by DrewPhillips
Hello All, I have on the bench a couple of PSU's which have some failed Nichicon PL series caps. They didn't "puke" their guts through the top, but instead "diarrhea'ed" corrosive brown electrolyte through the bottom, down the legs and onto the board. On one cap, the electrolyte rotted the cap right off the board leaving 2 little stubs, and also corroded a trace on the foil side.

The PSU's are Power-One MAP series and are ringing-choke topology. The semiconductors have date codes in 1993. The PSU's were used in a commercial application, fan-cooled. They had failed...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
    by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Need part number for Q051(aka Q16051) from the Panasonic TNPA4659 SS board
    by Yanleb
    Hi all,

This is very frustrating. Someone removed Q051 from a Panasonic TNPA4659 SS board from a TH-42PX80UA without writing on the board the actual part number.

As usual, the Panasonic service manual only lists the Panasonic part number B1JADN000003. There's no other component with the same B1JADN000003 number on the board, so I cannot figure it out.

Do you have one on hand that you can read the actual part number from it? This is not the TNPA4659AB with the AB suffix for the 37in TV, this is the TNPA4659 without a suffix for the 42in TV.
