I'm trying to locate repair capacitor kit for an Apple powermac g4 mirrored door m8570 400watt PSU. I followed the posts and apparently a number of caps should all be replaced. The PSU is the 400watt version. I have the board layout with the caps color coded but that diagram says 360W not 400W. I know this was an old Mac but I'm a long retired video editor, 75 now, and I need to access the 3 drives on the computer so as to archive my FCP projects. It's been a long time. Think it was plugged in by accident years ago. I've done my share of desoldering etc. I just was hoping I'd be luck to locate a "Cap repair kit" already assembled. We're on limited income SS and $150 for a replacement isn't justified. My wife wants us to unload as much of my obsolete electronics now that I no longer make a career doing post production. I was in small market tv post production for over 40 years. Trying to tell myself it's worth salvaging some of my history.
I have a daughter here on the west coast up in Seattle. She's done it all in video and print production. I'd love to leave her some of "myself" for her.
