                                    Hello everyone,

I am a software developer from Germany.
I found this forum while looking for repair resources.
I accidentally spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro.

This model seems relatively uncommon, and I haven’t been able to find detailed repair information elsewhere, so I’m hoping to get some guidance here.

                                    MacBook Pro 15” specs:
                                    • Model: A1707
                                    • Mid 2017
                                    • 3.1 GHz Core i7
                                    • 16 GB RAM
                                    • Radeon Pro 560
                                    • 1 TB SSD
                                    • 820-00928-A (board number)
After a complete cleaning with 99.9% isopropanol, the machine powers on, but the internal SSD is no longer detected (blinking question mark folder).

I am looking for schematics, board views, and advice on where to take measurements in order to locate faulty components or determine if the onboard SSD itself is damaged.

                                    Thanks for having me here.
                                    Greetings from Germany!

                                      Hello everyone,

My name is Sergiu and I’m from Romania 🇷🇴. I recently started working on repairing an HP EliteBook 8460p and came across this forum while searching for reliable BIOS recovery tools and branding utilities.

The laptop was showing the “Product Information not valid” error at boot, and after some research I realized the system board is missing key identifiers like Product Name, Serial Number, and Feature Byte. I’ve already gone through the BIOS settings and prepared a FreeDOS bootable USB, but I’m now looking for the correct version of the HP DMI tool (NbDmiFit or HPBQ138) that works with this model.

                                      Here are the specs:
                                      • Model: HP EliteBook 8460p
                                      • Serial Number: CZC1362J1W
                                      • Product Number: LG744EA#ABN
                                      • Issue: Missing system board info → stuck at startup with BIOS error
                                      • Goal: Reprogram BIOS identifiers using the correct toolset

If anyone has experience with this model or can confirm which version of NbDmiFit works best, I’d really appreciate the help. Also open to advice on generating a valid Feature Byte and Build ID if needed.

Thanks for having me here! Greetings from Romania!
                                      :X:x:X

                                        Hey,

                                        I'm Ryan, I'm from Ireland 🇮🇪!

In my spare time I like to repair vintage (and sometimes modern...) electronics and appliances, and this forum has been a great help thus far, particularly in motherboard (corrupt BIOS) and GPU repairs.

It's great to be a part of this community, too much repair information is kept secret these days.

                                        All the best!
