Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I found this site as a valuable resource of knowledge, I'm a thinkerer who enjoys restoring old videogame consoles and computers to extend their lifespan. Found this site a while ago and i truly enjoy reading some of the complicated stuff even if I don´t understand it completely. Cheers!

Hi all!
I'm a 52 year old guy from Germany, who just started to get his feet wet to fix electronics. I started off with the Nintendo Switch, as it is quite easy to understand and troubleshoot (well, in comparison to some other gadgets, that is). I'm a software engineer by day, so I'm also into the whole "how does hard and software play together" thing. My goal is, to offer repair services to the people around me. Mainly to get the satisfaction from saving a device from the landfill, but also to recoup the costs a little, for all the tools I bought. I'm also sorts of a maker and sell 3D printed stuff as well. So, my main driving factor in getting deeper into this area is pure curiosity.
Needing all the help a newbie can get, I'm glad that these places like these exists on the internet.
All the best...Comment

Hello everyone,
I'm Damian, electronics is my passion, both hardware and software. I love rescuing old gear from the dump, but it’s frustrating when good hardware is bricked due to unavailable or broken firmware.
Excited to join this forum and learn from you all!
Cheers, Damian

Hi all,
Lovely to meet everyone - I can see there's an awful lot of knowledge on this forum, which is great.
I'm trying to learn more about hardware (as most of my background is in software), so this feels like a great place to glean some tips and tricks.Comment

Hi. I'm suroth. Just getting into soldering and understanding how repair and enhance my technical equipment.
I'm currently at the 'I know enough to know I do not know enough yet'. Been enjoying tinkering on PCs for the better part of three decades. I don't mess around with in my work anymore, but it is still a passion.Comment

Hi and really delighted to be here.
Just to challenge "old skool boyz and girlz" I started with my fathers IBM 8086... So, It's been a very long trip!
I'm an avid follower of channels as BigClive's, Mr. Carlson, Dicky's Learn Electronic Repair and as I have seen how helpful is the community, I decided to join you (if I'm allowed) in case I can share any hardware hint, or ask for a bit (LOT) of help now that I have much more time for my owm projects.
Big hugz to all techies from another tech engineer!!
