Hi,
Found this site in my search for how to repair an ASUS laptop with the backlight issue on Battery. I've been a tech since 74 after I left school. I know (a bit of) stuff and I fix things, is basically me. I'm currently retired. I've currently have over 40 IoT devices on my home network. Anyway, that's me. Hope I can help anyone else in the areas that I know.
BTW, My handle comes from the fact I played drums in bands for many years.

Hi, I’ve been retired for 3 years and have been spending some of that time building a music streaming computer and trying to revive some old computer equipment that I’ve collected over the years.
I arrived at ‘Badcaps’ when I was searching for advice on BIOS and EEPROM flashing for some old Dell Venue tablets I have.
I studied Engineering Science 50 years ago and worked as a BBC audio engineer. So, I have a little technical knowledge, although it’s now pretty old and very rusty.
I bought my first computer in 1991 and by 1995 I was building my own PCs for a digital audio production studio that I had.
I haven’t been involved in any of the technical aspects of computers for a long time, but my interest was reignited when I began building a digital audio streaming computer for my hi-fi system.
