Hi there,
I am not new to this forum but most of the time inactive so I must have missed to introduce myself when I joined a few years back.
While searching for an affordable TV some years ago some offered a TV for free which did not display a good picture. Searching for clues I found out it could have been a faulty T-CON. I replaced it and voilà: The TV worked!
It has become a passion to try to repair TVs and electronics in general.

I've been an electronics tech for 40 years now (wow how time flies). I learned most of what I know when I was in the Navy since my ADD made me dread having to learn anything that wasn't related to my core interests. For the past 30 years I have been working flight simulators and get to work on equipment that most people only dream of. A little over a decade ago I took up the hobby of building guitar pedals for local musicians to hone my soldering skills and get back into my love of all things audio. I would build the pedals for fun and usually just gave them away to support the local music scene since I can't even play an air guitar. Over the years I've repaired numerous gutar and bass amps and have also built a few including a tube reverb and even a leslie. My most recent build was a home stereo amp using 4 TDA7293s which sounds alot better than I imagined it would actually. Even after working on electronics for 40 years I'm still surprised every time I turn on something I built and it doesn't make a small (or large) mushroom cloud. Now that I'm about to retire I've begun building up my sound system for my man cave.Comment
