Just joined the forum to learn more about BIOS modding and general hardware repair. I’ve recently run into a bit of a challenge with a HP Elitebook laptops, and that got me interested in how all this stuff really works.

Hello. My name is William, thanks for making the site available. In the process of diagnosing a friends "written off" 2023 macbook pro A2780 16in, with failed magsafe function. Only charges while the computer is off, very slowly i might add, through usb-c. Only a hobbyist, have managed to get the computer to run just by removing an cleaning the board. Have done a small amount off successful cell phone and computer repairs, soldering jumper wires on flex cables and cleanings, software reboots and recovery etc. Never soldered on a board though. This mac has been extremely fun, and has me diving into logic boards with a multimeter. Ive enjoyed it. Anyway, thats why im here. Hope whoever reads this is having a good day!
