I suppose I started around the age of 10 on a PackardBell Computer with a 486 processor, I spent a lot of time playing games on it but my passion was in understanding how the hardware works so I got a degree in electrical engineering and was hired by Intel before I graduated. Currently I work for a much smaller and quieter company repairing anything they put in front of me.

My name is Hรฉctor from Dominican Republic. The first time I used a computer was back in 1997. I really liked it, and from that moment on, I fell in love with everything related to it.
Now, I want to deepen my knowledge in repairing electronic devicesโsuch as replacing ICs, fixing short circuits, and similar tasks.
I created an account on this forum because I saw that there are many people here with a lot of experience, and there's also very relevant information being shared that aligns with the goals I want to achieve.
I'm terrible at these things and I'm sans ADHD meds but I'll do my best ๐
I've always been tinkering, fixing, modifying and repairing electronics and I've wanted to both significantly increase and improve my skillsets and knowledge while also being a part of a community, they weren't kidding when they said making friends/finding your tribe in your 30's is tough, used to be on a bunch of forums but kind of drifted away from all of that and looking to get back into being an active member of communities of like minded and friendly people.
So yeah, currently building up a cheap and as close to an equivalent as possible to ACElab's PC-3000 Flash NAND data recovery system (Sadly I'm not in the place in life where $5,500 approx is a doable price range for toys for me to play with ๐คฆโ๏ธ๐) with the hope to use it for both Data Recovery and Firmware dumping for reverse engineering / hardware hacking.
Currently not employed as I've only just managed to get myself into a better place in life after nearly 7 years homeless after an illegal eviction, so recently it's been about improving all aspects of my health, learning as many new things as possible while doing courses/ free classes online surrounding Penetration testing & Hardware hacking - (I'm currently not 100% what aspect of the security world I want to focus on so am getting a feel for everything and trying to have as much fun while I do it so my ADHD will be more likely to play ball throughout๐ ) Would really like to make some new friends, especially those interested in the IT security/pen-testing/hackerspace/makerspace/engineering/gaming/Warhammer/home lab etc circles. ๐
