I guess I wouldn't be here if I hadn't run into a problem with my laptop bios but here I am looking forward to your help resetting my laptop bios.
I'm from Nigeria and have a degree in computer science from the University of People. I used to repair computers since the time of Windows 98 but I haven't done that again in a long time and couldn't keep up with the changes in the industry again. Looking forward to learn from you all.

Me llamo bitcrunch y soy un adicto confeso a los foros. Lo he intentado dejar, lo juro. Pero cada vez que pienso que ya lo superé, aparece un nuevo hilo interesante, una pregunta sin respuesta... y recaigo. Necesito mi dosis diaria de aprendizaje.

Ahora algo sobre mí: soy bastante paranoico con la privacidad en línea. No me gusta dejar huella, pero al mismo tiempo no puedo resistirme a compartir lo que sé. Por eso estoy aquí: para compartir, aprender y debatir (cuando vale la pena).

Estudié ingeniería eléctrica y pasé más de dos décadas trabajando en soporte técnico de campo para una empresa. Ya no estoy ahí. El trabajo desapareció, junto con el portátil de la empresa... y el coche. Bueno, cosas que pasan.

Desde siempre he sido un "trasteador profesional". Hacker, en el sentido original del término: el que explora, desmonta, repara, mejora. Sobre todo hardware. Si algo se rompe, probablemente pueda arreglarlo (menos coches, para eso tengo colegas que saben más). Empecé tarde con los ordenadores. Mi primera máquina fue una gloriosa IBM PC-XT con disco de 10 MB, CPU 8086 y DOS 3.3. Toda una bestia... en su tiempo.

Hoy, además de pelearme con circuitos, también soy el técnico informático no oficial de amigos y familia. Virus, reinstalaciones, limpiezas, y esa clase de magia. Así que, para mantenerme al día, paso mis horas entre foros de seguridad, hardware y lo que se cruce en el camino.

Hello people I stumbled onto this forum whilst searching for information on my Lenovo p510.
It appears to have bricked itself.

Machine Type Model
30B5002EUS

I was in the BIOS settings and a change in a parameter (I forget what) took a long time to commit. I used esc key and backed out and my SATA drives al disappeared from the list of devices and the order changed to default boot order. Rebooted and only NIC boot process endlessly looping.

Now its stone dead no beeps. No power to gpu just case fans and cpu cooler fan.

I'm assuming a corrupt BIOS
