Hello All !
I am a new electronics enthusiast.
And I really like breaking the barriers of computers in general.
whether it is software or hardware.
Basically I develop software and I also work as a mason on weekends, following the purchase of our new house full of work u_u.
Thank you for this forum which seems really comprehensive in all topics of electrical troubleshooting!

I'm Element-XP, and I'm excited to join the BadCaps forum! I've been interested in electronics for quite a while now, particularly in the repair and restoration of various devices. Over the years, I've worked on everything from computer motherboards to power supplies, and I've gained a lot of hands-on experience troubleshooting and replacing bad capacitors. I've always been fascinated by how these small components can make or break the functionality of a device.
I'm here to connect with fellow enthusiasts and share knowledge. I've found the insights on this forum to be incredibly helpful and I hope to contribute in any way I can, whether it's through discussions, repairs, or learning from others' experiences. My main focus has been on identifying and replacing faulty capacitors, but I'm always open to learning new tricks and tips to improve my skills.
Looking forward to collaborating with you all, solving some tricky issues, and learning from the wealth of experience this forum has to offer!
my name is alice and i am a hobbyist computer toucher and i work in tech support, including basic repairs. I love that there are still forums like badcaps on the web. Hope to be able to learn more about fixing devices cuz i hate e-waste!
my name is David, and i am new in this Forum. I am learning how to repair graphic cards and this forum helped me so much. Thank you so much for helping.
can't remember if i did this when i created my account a year ago but perhaps i did not as no one commented on my threads. therefore, my name is Ryan, i am a petroleum engineer that loves to experiment. i do not like being told something is not possible, especially in this world of planned obsolescence we live in now. that is why i love forums like badcaps; you guys do the impossible or break it trying.

I'm Joel, and I have a background in computer repair and hardware troubleshooting. I enjoy diagnosing and fixing electronics, especially laptops and desktops. Recently, I've been working on a water-damaged Lenovo laptop, which led me to this forum.
I'm here to learn from others, share my experiences, and hopefully contribute where I can. Looking forward to great discussions!

I'm from Geneva, about 55ish, trained as a watchmaker, but I don't do that professionally anymore—just as a hobby. These days, I have an office job, which gives me time to keep up with my passion for fixing things, especially vintage stuff. I've always been into watches, but recently, I've discovered a strong interest in electronics—mainly audio/hi-fi gear and old game consoles.
I'm pretty new to electronics, but I'm eager to learn. I've got the basics down—I know (or think I know) what the main components are, what they do, how they can fail, and roughly how to test them. Lately, I've been digging into schematics and just trying to absorb as much as I can.
I'm here to learn, ask questions, and hopefully, one day, be able to answer some too. I can be a bit hesitant at first (worried about asking dumb newbie questions), but once I feel at home, I open up.
Glad to be here—looking forward to learning and chatting with you all!
After watching MacBook repair videos for years, mine finally died... Looking to put some learned knowledge to use and get it fixed as well some other devices around the house.
I work in the industrial design field, but repair and electronics tinkering is a hobby I enjoy.
