hi, my name is steve. was trying to fix a r9 480 that i had blow that lovely magic smoke. definitely cooked c2143 (i think thats the number) and the one next to it. Found a thread with a guy that said he was able to remove it and still boot it up. However, that didnt work with mine and i think the traces got too damaged when it started melting :-(

I'm working in car repair shop with car diagnostic and high voltage electronics, but after work i like to explore deeper electronics world, so my hobby create thing with arduino, stm and now I'm trying to explore laptop world 😅 first impression was that i need more tools, started with small microspcope from ali, at this moment i have good microscope, uni-t ut61e multimeter with good probes for my precision measurements, fnirsi lcr meter, quick 857dw(the best hot air station I've ever used) and I trying to learn something 😅
