Wahgwan mi breddahs and sistahs?
Cathode ray tubes, Pentium II & III processors, learning how to solder electronics . . . . That was mandem life growing up in the bando. Was always fascinated by how computers worked, and if they had some form of sentience to them (of course, I couldn't put it in words back then).
Came to this platform originally because of my computer, but now I'm staying so I can understand computer hardware and software better.Comment

Hi my name is Danny from holland.
Iam 43 years, and was a construction site manager.
Unfortunately I was struck by covid in feb 2020, and nowadays I even cannot do much because of that phenomena.
So Iam seeking to do something what doesn't require time pressure, something that keeps quit when you leave it for a couple of days.
As I was younger I experimented with electronics and computers.
So I thought to start again where I left once.
Unfortunately my brain is become a mess in time, and short memory is shorted to ground.
So I seek knowledge on the forum, the help of many brains, and the memory chip of my inbox.
I started with the repair and restauration of an old radio(telefunken gavotte), this gave me back the old school feeling.
So now and then I search for defective electronics to possible repair them.

Grey but always keen to learn. Electronics and mechanics are predictable, pretty reliable if engineered well, and usually dependable, although I generally like people too! Since 6yrs old I've been building electronics, analogue and digital, and fixing stuff rather than seeing it get thrown or recycled. Hoping to help and be helped.Comment

Hello! New to the forum, but I have been a diy fixer for years. Ranging from appliances, pinball machines, arcade games, cars and board sets from random things. Hoping to get help and help others!Comment

I'm threeneurons,
That's a nickname I acquired decades ago, because I only have 3 brain cells, and no two work at any one time.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, and I'm joining this forum, as an aid to keep my aging computers together. Nothing too old. Windows PCs. I still do have a old DOS PC run by a 386, but nothing older. No S100 machines running PC/M, though I had used them in the distant past.Comment
