TL;DR: iPad not turning on, A10 and power IC become (very) warm when attempted to turn on but this power-on cycle has a 'cooldown' period wherein powering on doesn't work, does not take more than 0.5A charge.
I am working on an iPad 7th generation 2197 from >2019 with no / limited charging and no boot issues. It is a refurbished purchase made in 2021. Hi everyone,
got an Acer Helios 500 Laptop (PH517-51) for diagnosing with a strange issue:
The laptop runs for a while (1-2 hours, sometimes less) and then suddenly shuts completely off, like someone pulled the power cord and restarts immediately after on its own.
If this happened once, then the laptop only runs for a few minutes until restart.
This happens regardless while staying in windows or uefi or in a linux environment.
At first I thought of a normal overheating issue, but as I monitored temps with HWInfo64, nothing seems very hot.

This is a shot in the dark, and if you need more info, I'll give it all to you. I've already asked for the schematics and boardview.
This board won't power up. Has 3.3v on BIOS chip pin 8, 3.3v on power button, confirmed voltage to 0v when pressed power button. The EC chip is quite warm just with the power adapter connected and nothing else. Board is out of the machine and everything disconnected. I'm guess that's abnormal and probably the reason for not powering up. I'm still learning and have been fault tracing with my level of knowledge.

Hi, I have a couple of AM4 b350 motherboard to fix .... I try to see what I got without installing anything (no memory, no cpu) and give them just 5V standby .... and I have a coil getting warm on both board near memory (1,2v on one, 1,35 on the second one). Is this somehow normal? Because It looks very strange to me.
And can't identify anything else getting particularly hot who can be the sink for this current ...
