    Server connectivity problems - 12-31-03

    The Internet provider that gives my servers all this lovely bandwidth has been having some connectivity issues today (12-31-03). They also indicated that there may be difficulties for the next day or two. This is a bizaare one this time... it's only dropping connectivity on certain IP's, and unfortunately, Badcaps.net's is one of them... All my other sites have been OK... The first time this happened, I thought my server was in the process of hurling, and ripped into everything looking for faults... When I found none, I called and they told me about their issues... ARGG all that aggrivation for nothing.

    Anyway, if you get errors or can't get on badcaps.net at all, that's the reason! It's only temporary, so don't panic! It'll be back up shortly!!

      as a beginner electronics hobbyist, after a few years I would like to place another post on this Forum section, given that I did not succeed in finding any useful advice among the other posts.

      Hello,
      on this laptop hp g72 b52sf i have screen problems as you can see with the photo joined in attachments.
      the used graphic card is "intel hd graphics" and the id of the integrated screen is : "monitor/SEC3354".
      i verified the driver of the péripherals and they are ok. i verified the definition and settings of the graphic card and of the screen : definition 1600x900 and refreshment frequency :60hz. (they are the sames for the graphic card and the screen).
      i don't understand the reasons of the white stripe at the bottom of the screen below the task...

      I thinking about some central LAN file server, on where I can put some files from other devices, or access to them, and maybe play some movie without download...

      I never study this, but when I see that freenas need few gigabyte of ram to recommended working, some wiered partition, I wonder if I miss somewhat in the midletime...
      Also exist "turnkey file server", and other turnkey products that I can not distinguished what is major difference and how it perform - no experiance at all.

      What is general difference between this products, and what be most useful...

      USB problems?

      Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

      (I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

      I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...
