    LG Plasma (42PC3D-UE) question

I have a LG 42 inch plasma TV model 42PC3D – UE that just stopped working. The small red light is on at the front, but when I turn it on, it immediately shuts off. I get the green light for a split second. I tried unplugging it for a while, with no luck.

It's about 4 years old. I noticed some other people (on the board) had sound issues first, but not me. It just stopped working out of the blue, with no prior problems.

Any ideas on the problem? Is it worth fixing?

I'd appreciate any advise. I just don't want to waste a day lugging it around town to pay someone to tell me is broken.

    Thanks in advance.

Possible shorted Y-Sus or Z-Sus. The Z-sus is on the right as you stand behind the set. Unplug the heavy power cable from the Z-sus, and try the set again. If it powers up, but no picture, a new Z-sus will cost about $100 US. That's about $50 Canadian, I believe. If it doesn't power up, reconnect the first power cable, and try the same on the Y-sus.

On second thought, there may be a better way to troubleshoot this. With the TV unplugged disconnect the heavy power lead from the power supply to the Z-sus board. Notice there are two ceramic fuses next to the power connector. On the upper fuse, measure the resistance from ground to the end of the fuse furthest away from the power connector. Repeat for the other fuse. If either resistance is less than 10 ohms, you have a short. If neither are shorted, reconnect the power cable and report the reading. Now disconnect the power cable going to the Y-Sus card and perform the same tests. Again, if neither are shorted reconnect the power cable and report the results.

The next test will require a little more care, plus some help. The outputs of the power supply are labeled on the supply itself. Set your meter to the 200 VDC range, hook it to one of the outputs of the power supply, and have someone turn on the TV. Does the voltage reach it's designated value? If it does, go on to the next output. If it doesn't, you may have a bad power supply.

LG Plasma ZSUS Flashing Screen, No Booting! - 50PB690V
        by reessi
Replaced Zsus beginning of year as most transistors were short stopping tv powering up.

Now screen flashes on off continually and ZSUS ticks. Looking like replacement maybe faulty or could something else cause it to shut down.

If I remove both tabs from ZSUS to screen but keep all other connectors to ZSUS on then TV boots properly but screen very dark without ZSUS output, no ticking from ZSUS. So it only shuts down when under load from screen.

If it is ZSUS then how to fault find, I already looked for shorts. No transistors shorted or caps and its...

HP F4180 stopped working please help troubleshoot
        by flat-earther
I was doing a large print job with my HP Deskjet F4180, and after about 50 pages the printer stopped in the middle of a page and the black ink light started flashing.
So I went to refill the black ink cartridge with a syringe, but found out it still had a lot of ink.

I tried to print a page again but every time it would print only a bit of the page and immediately stop with the black ink light flashing again.
I tried two other black ink cartridges, and the problem still endured, so I knew this problem had to be with the printer itself.

I ran HP Print and Scan...

plasma TV Lg 42w451 - why is the zsus igbts damaged when the ysus is plugged?
        by Salvatore057
        Hi all,
I am trying to fix my plasma TV which is not powering on due to damaged IGBTs. I have changed two igbts and 2 IC drivers on the zsus and also two igbts on the ysus.
Now everytime I plugged the ZSUS and the YSUS boards to the power board, the two 30f124 IGBT on the ZSUS are damaged and the TV stays in standby mode. When I plug the ZSUS board alone the TV turns ON but I do not see pictures. When I plug the ZSUS board without the two 30f124 IGBTs and the YSUS board, the TV powers on with a picture.
I am lost, should I change the YSUS board? Is the YSUS board damaging...

        Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
        a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
        c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...
