Re: Lg 60PZ550 no picture
need pictures too, straight on clear pictures of each board and one of the whole back as to see how everything is connected.Comment

Re: Lg 60PZ550 no picture
or you can do some guessing, my first guess would be maybe a tcon issue but it's just a guess without testing.Comment

Re: Lg 60PZ550 no picture
I would run the test patterns if you can

Re: Lg 60PZ550 no picture
Do the auto_gen test by removing the LVDS cable and shorting two pads on the logic board, the tv should start by showing test patterns, if the image is good and stable the fault lies on the main board, possibly BGA issues on the main chip under the heatsink, famous on all PX and PZ plasmas.
Following the standard on LG plasmas, I think it's those two pads since the service manual nor the board itself shows where they should be.Comment

by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
Hi All,
Need help.
I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.
So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard.... -
by jaifraicHello,
I have a Toshiba 49U6763DA TV that shows no picture. It turns on, the backlight works, but nothing else. I don't have a remote at the moment to check if this is working.
I have opened the unit, every plug is connected, nothing seems to get hot and all caps look ok. I checked the small caps on the tcon board and the two boards that sit between the tcon and the panel (I don't know what they are called). None of the caps are shorted. The tcon board gets 12V (actually 12.5V) and the fuses are fine.
So I'm thinking that the motherboard is defective... -
by sergio_avHi, I'm unexperienced with troubleshooting and I'm not sure how to proceed with this laptop.
Motherboard is A5WAH LA-B991P I think, i5-5200U and nvidia 820m.
When I received the laptop, CMOS battery had 0V. I took it out and all the testing has been done without a CMOS battery and without the main battery plugged in, I haven't been able to see physical damage, burnt or missing components with a quick visual inspection, and no shorts were found.
Laptop charges the battery, powers on when ON button is pressed when powered from charger and when powered from the battery, but...1 Photo -
by KYBOSHSaved this beast from the landfill this weekend.
Manfactured July 2013 in Mexico.
I love working on plasma TVs.
Its been a while but I was lucky enough to find 2 this week.
The TV powers on and stays on but no picture. Havent checked for sound yet.
No bulging caps although the insides are pretty dusty and the boards are discolored from many years of high heat.
Will start troubleshooting tonight.
