    NS-43DR710CA17 Insignia - Backlight but no image

    Hello!

    I am attempting to repair an Insignia TV that a friend gave me.
    At first I thought it would be a backlight issue which is quite common apparently on these models but when powered on, the backlight is visible and the screen lights up but no image appears. Also there is a bright spot visible in the bottom left corner (see image attached). I can also hear sound when I press the remote buttons and there is no visible impacts on the screen.

    I tried to unplug the controller board and it made no difference so i'm wondering if the issue could comes from the main board or the supply board ?
    What do you guys think ?

      Backlight but no video first suspect is the tcon though it could also be the panel. Power up the TV with one side of the tcon to panel ribbons connected at a time. If one side shows video, you have a panel fault on the bad side. If no side is good, tcon is still suspect.

          Thank you for your response neilc6.
          After removing the left ribbon from the t-con I have video on the right side !
          So the left one is the culprit and after investigation I think I know why (see image attached).
          One of the ribbons connecting the left board to the screen is perforated in 2 places!

          Is this something that could be repaired ? It looks like it's glued to the boards so that might be tricky to remove =/

              Not repairable or replaceable. The ribbon is TAB bonded to the panel using expensive specialized equipment. The traces do look burnt up so could be a short in the panel.

                      You can sell the boards on ebay. Include a pic of the working half screen which shows that all the boards are working.

                          This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.

                          I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area....

                          Dears, this is my first post here and first try to fix my own laptop Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch Mid 2015.
                          I have some general electronics troubleshooting experience and still as my hoppy but this is my first laptop trying to fix.

                          History: my laptop backlight stopped working without any reason.
                          Symptoms:
                          I have image on screen using my flashlight.
                          I have fully working laptop with the help of my external SAMSUNG LED tv via HDMI cable.
                          Keyboard backlight still working and can be adjusted normally.

                          This chinese all in one computer gives an image when connected to an external vga monitor but only the backlight with integrated monitor (no image). Initially I thought it was an edid problem on the eeprom of the screen but then I saw that the monitor works correctly with another identical motherboard (model th410-d4, read by bios). Unfortunately the motherboard is chinese and has no brand or codes on the pcb. The format seems ITX. Nothing can be found online. The official yashi site provides drivers but not the bios. The electrical diagram is obviously unobtainable

                          Hi all
                          I have a Macbook Pro A2442 with the 820-02098 from a friend which has no picture on the display, however, the backlight works.
                          He was streaming a football match on a questionable site, then the site crashed, and the problem emerged.
                          Initially, he sent it to apple, who quoted him £1323.95 to replace the display, lid angle sensor and top case.
                          Obviously, he decided against this and gave it to me so that I could have a crack at it.
                          From initial diagnostics, I connected to an external monitor, I first tried with a HP 22W monitor, and I booted into the boot menu...

                          Hi everyone!

                          First post on here so do tell me if i'm doing anything wrong. I have a laptop that came in with a broken hinge, but a healthy LCD. We replaced the LCD rear cover and now we do not get an image on the LCD anymore, though we get one via HDMI. There is sadly no schematic or boardview available for this motherboard (Bucks U42 DIS 17817-1) as far as i can tell, but I was able to identify which of the important pins on the LCD eDP connector (30 pin 2 lane) correspond to which pins on the motherboard display connector (which is 40pin, 30 for LCD and 10 for camera/face rec etc)...
