Usually you can find the information on the service menu. No idea how to get to it?

Does the service manual give you instructions for getting into the service menu? What are they?

Probably less than 85%; it depends who provided the code for the signal processing section. But on the LG sets I have here you can get into one of the service menus by pressing and holding the menu button on the remote, then pressing and holding the menu button on the TV. Reverse the order in which you press the buttons for the other service menu.

Sounds like the sequences Phillips uses. The results have been have been pretty hit or miss for me - less than a 50% success rate on any try.

The number is not philips'. Their is six digits plus a button sequence.

              Cheers, Wizard

PlainBill, If 50% success on most Philips sets, then trying 10 times in my case or even twenty would think by the 6th try and so on if code is correct would yield entry to factory mode.

Haier being one of what i believe Wizard deems low end or don't know much about them bypassed my original question. (i'm cool with that)
it does appear Wizard does help throughout the forum on plasmas and that is Great.

I agree. For some reason some manufacturers often change this sequence. The rational for this is beyond me.

PlainBill, the reason the code changes is that they have found a new supplier -- who will supply at a lower cost. To avoid trademark infringement, they have to change the access code, or the ROM would be a 'copy'. I am joking, in case it was not clear...
