T-CON fault or Main board fault? AKAI AKTV434 UHD SMART

Hi, I have a tv which has backlight and sound but no or little picture. upon startup the tv only has a vertical bar (5cm thick) on the right side which gradually gets brighter, if I disconnect half of the LCD from the T-CON I get no normal picture no matter which side I connect leading me to think that this is either a T-CON or Main board fault. The weird thing is that depending whether I have both LCD ribbon cables connected or if I have one disconnected the display artifacts change, when both are connected I only see the vertical bar however when one side is connected, that side starts slowly turning into a green/white mess of vertical lines until it gets very bright and mostly white. Another quick question, is it normal that if you power up the tv with the LCD disconnected from the TCON the LCD still has some pixels illuminated that were previously on, these pixels slowly fade away with time (I'm thinking due to capacitance.)?

T-CON model is HV430QUB-N4A
