Re: Sharp LC-80LE632U 2-5 blink code

A little more background information. The initial blink code on this TV was (2-2) Power supply error 2 UR+13V error. I also noticed that buzzing sound in the PFC area. After checking the UR+13V filter caps and rectifiers and finding nothing wrong, I refreshed the solder joints on the major components (transformers, FET's, diodes, caps, large inductors). Then I took a look at the PFC and noticed that it was lower than I thought it should be and it fluctuated. When the PFC is off the voltage on the bridge rectifier/filter caps (C7220, C7222, C7223) was normal and did not fluctuate. When the PFC turned on the voltage on the filter caps fluctuated between 310v and 316v. Also the voltage on the bridge rectifier fluctuated between 150v and 220v. Even with this fluctuation the output voltages were stable and where they should be.
After refreshing the solder joints I put the power supply board back on the TV. Now the 2-2 blink code was gone but the 2-5 showed up.
Because of the 2-5 blink code, I check the T-Con/Panel. When I disconnected one or the other ribbon cable between the T-Con and Panel I still got the 2-5 blink code. When I disconnected both ribbon cables, the TV powered up as normal. The PFC remained the same. I expected the PFC to be around 380 - 400 volts, but it remained fluctuating near 300v.
What I am wondering is if the PFC is too low to handle the 12v outputs when the T-Con/Panel tries to power up, and this is why it's giving the 2-5 blink code and not because the Panel is bad.
Note: Though the PFC voltage does not increase when the TV comes up with the two Panel ribbon cables disconnected, the buzzing increases as the backlight intensity increases.

    Sharp LC-80LE632U 2-5 blink code

I have a Sharp LC-80LE632U with a 2-5 blink code. I have narrowed it down to the T-Con/Panel. I get the error if both or either ribbon cable is connected between the T-Con and the Panel. If I disconnect both ribbon cables, I get no error and the TV powers up just fine.
Does anyone know if this is a definite bad Panel or is there a chance that the T-Con could still be at fault?

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
    by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Sharp LC-52E77UN TCON activation WITHOUT motherboard. I2C reverse engineering help?
    by moltensolderlabs
Hi everyone. [Sorry for the long, detailed post in advance].

I have a Sharp LC-52E77UN which randomly shuts down--could be within 15 minutes, could be 40 minutes, over 1 hour, it's unpredictable. From reading the service manual, I was able to get into service mode (where the K is displayed), and found the following error flag toggled: "04 Initial Communication Error 4 -- Error reason: To the communication setting reception," which, from contacting an eBay TV repair store, I was told is caused NOT by a bad TCON (which was my first guess), but rather the motherboard....

    Sharp LC-80LE844U Blinks 2 slow, 5 fast
    by joblo37pam
It's been a while since I've checked in here or needed input on narrowing down what to replace on a TV repair, but I've got one on my bench now that has me wondering. The lack of part (board) availability means I may need to do some component-level diagnostics, and a second opinion is always good when it comes to that.

The issue - Sharp LC-80LE844U does not display. Power light comes on for a while, then you can hear a relay click off and the light blinks twice slow, then five times fast. Service manual points to 'Panel Power Supply Error' with this code, but isn't much more help...

Sharp LC-70LE650U vertical black and red bars
    by ninja_zx11
    Hi all,

70" LED TV is Sharp LC-70LE650U.

Initial problem was horizontal lines and slow motion lurrs on the bottom left of the screen. So I removed both the left and right ribbon cables from the T-con board and tried to clean it with alcohol and when I put it back, this issue appeared. I tried carefully reinserting the ribbon bon cables but same thing. I checked the traces of the ribbon cables with magnifying glass and everything looks good. I cleaned the small jumper ribbon cable on the left side of the screen which cured the horizontal line and slow motion blurs...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
    by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

    Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

    First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...
