LG 47LD-450-UA : LCD panel defect or video memory defect?

I have an interesting one for you. It is a LG 47LD450-UA with a yellow vertical line. It has two particularities:

    1. The yellow line starts 3 inches from the top edge and goes all the way to the bottom of the screen.
    2. From the start at 3 inches from the top edge, the yellow line is composed of alternating green and red pixels. In other words, all odd pixels are green and all even pixels are red.

It cannot be a tab bonding issue since the line begins at 3 inches from the top edge (the ribbon connectors are at the top).

Can it be a shorted pixel that messes up the remaining of the line? But why does it alternate between green and red pixels?

The other possibility is a bad video memory chip.

    What do you think?

I am fortunate enough to have its little brother (a LG42LD450-UA) on hand, and by swapping the main boards I've confirmed that the the defect is in the LCD panel.

By the way, the LG42LD450-UA main board worked perfectly in the LG47LD450-UA despite ShopJimmy not showing them as compatible models.

Check the mlc capacitors on the panel driver board, you can compare them to the ones on the good board, example there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLd6QO7Z7m4

The single pixel where line starts got burned and drain lines, green/red, interrupted.

China Make TV with LG Display horizontal line at top and video freezes 1-3 secs
          by dikei
          Hi guys!

I'm new to TV repair and just started looking into troubleshooting guides and other online info.

Right now I have a Chinese make with LG display that is faulty. If I am not wrong I see two different problems here below.

          1. There is a line(white/multicolored) at the very top of the display that shows thinner sometimes and slightly thicker in some occasions.

          2. For any video the play freezes 1-3 secs and at the same time brightness goes low and returns to high when video continue to play.

          From my initial research...

ViewSonic Pf815 (branded as P225f) Horizontal Deflection Issues - Running out of Ideas

          Hi Everyone,

I've been working on repairing this beautiful CRT monitor off and on for the past several months and I'm really at a loss for what might be causing the problem.

Unlike other common Horizontal Deflection issues which result in a steady vertical line, when I turn the monitor on, there is a pulsing (somewhat segmented) vertical line. I've attached a photo that shows the issue (difficult to capture without video)....

The monitor itself is branded as a P225f, but it turns out that it's actually a Pf815 that has an Add-On smallish PCB that expands it to support...
