Android Q7 tv box any hope for this old box maybe a custom rom?

Ran across this old android Q7 tv box, has the rk3188 chip. Wondering if it could be made useful again with a custom rom or something, isn't very useful as is with the old kitkat 4.4.2 version that's on it.

in order to avoid headache later... you need to open it and read the PCB (boards) version, as usual Chinese do several different component on same SOC RK3188.
good place for custom Firmware and root here

on the site i linked to you there custom firmware with root.. but i just wounder 8GB NAND with 2GB RAM. !! wow usually 1/8 ram/nand

so what are you expected it does for you ?? if it work smooth on the original 4.4 i would stay on and just play with KODI /XBMC for streaming IPTV or stalker server to enjoy world wide channel.

Yes, think it was one of the early 2Gb products, I don't think it can go past 16 with 4.4, would like to see if it can somehow do 18.

Guess I'll just leave it as is, the links on freaktab are 4 years old and dead, guess it isn't worth messing with.

Here's another question I'll throw out there as long as were on old devices, do you think it's better to root firestick 2nd gen. or let it keep updating? don't really want the pain of rooting then updating just to have to root again, from what I've read people seem to be split on it, some say yay some say nay.

if its android.. and you root it, there are 2 kind of update
1- firmware complete its upgrade this can be blocked by comment # at build.prop ( this could remove the root or caused boot loop) but still this will never start from alone but also remain give at each start notification unless via root delete the related firmware update apk.
2- update apk , via google this had nothings to do with root and could be updated by user or automatic.

                        JVC LT-39CA120 - Vestel 17MB171 - Android boot loop
                        by Grut
                        Hi everyone,

My JVC (Vestel) LED TV is stuck on a Android boot loop when I switch the power on.

Previously, I was trying to clean the storage memory (by deleting as many files as possible), I may have delete some start-up Android files.....so I screw it.🤡

When I switch the power on, the initial JVC is shown. I have tried to run Android 9 from a bootable USB on the TV. It starts reading the USB but nothing happens and the JVC logo and Android boot loop keeps the same.

Can anybody help me please finding the 17MB171 USB firmware to try to upload...

Hisense 55Q9G Android reset / factory firmware reload
                        by mon2
Hello. Have a 55" Hisense TV that starts to load the Android OS (no backlight issues) -> reaches the app screen where you can view the assorted icons including Netflix and always crashes at the same point just after this launch. If I quickly press the cursor buttons, the cursor can navigate to the settings menu but will power off just after a few seconds of this activity. Do not believe it is power related since the crash is very accurate in the boot cycle.

After the OS 'crashes', the power does go off and the from white LED goes dark for about 20 seconds and then ON again....

How do modern TVs with Android/WebOS/Roku/etc boot? Debug ports?
                        by jchon
Hi I'm having issues trying to get my Sony A1E to power on.

Which made me wonder, how involved is Android in the booting of the TV?

I'm basing this information on what I can glean from the service manual:

In my Sony A1E for example I see:
BKA which houses the main processor and along with the input/outputs.
DKA which possibly does up-conversion, in the block diagram I see VX1 coming in from the BKA and out to the TCON
TCON timing board which drives the actual panel.

                        On the BKA there's a sub-system called the U-COM...

                        Hello,
I'm looking for the official stock firmware for the Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30 tablet with the following version:
                        • Firmware version: RV02RC07
                        • Region: WW GEN1 (WorldWide)
                        • Chipset: MediaTek MT8163
                        • Android version: 6.0

I've searched various sites but couldn't find this exact version. If anyone has a working download link or can share the firmware, I'd really appreciate it.
                        Thank you in advance!
