Sony KDL-40R510C suddenly gives code #6

Suddenly, there's a green LED, but it's very brief. Then a red LED blinks 6 times, pauses and repeats. (probably at 1-blink-per-second)

This Sony TV, certainly doesn't look like the champion that the old Sony Bravia, which still has a nice picture and sound! The old Sony Bravia is still on HGTV right now, right outside my bedroom.

The Sony with the problem, is my mother's and father's, in their bedroom on the upper floor.

I'm like, "WTF!", after doing a tiny bit of internet search-fu, wondering how an LED or LEDs can be bad, even when very possible.

The picture background color, first off, doesn't look bad, unlike the LG 49UH6100 that's in my sister's bedroom, where it looks like faulty LEDs, FFS! (based on internet photos)

Update: The main board is the most suspect, because it's been working in demo mode sometime after moving to our new-to-us house.

Unlike Sony cameras, which are well made, it looks like Sony TVs lately, (the recent ones, at least since the later-2010s) have a lot of problems! It seems to almost always be the mainboard.

Unlike the LG, LEDs or one of the LEDs, are more likely to fail without visibly failing.

      I saw this YouTube video:

It doesn't even look that hard to get to the LED strips.

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
        by Pipolups
        Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

        Sony Trinitron KV32FV27 Suddenly Dimmed
        by cmonkey
A couple of days ago I finally got my hands on a locally sourced Trinitron and after lugging all 175 LBS home I gave it a good cleaning inside and out. The guy said it had been in a shed for 2 years, but the outside wasn't too bad. The inside was another story and while there was no evidence of mouse, it had certainly been kept in a VERY dirty home.

I cleaned it to an acceptable level of grime, at least clean enough to where nothing would heat up from the dust insulation. I then tried it out and it worked!

I'd say I had it on for about 15 minutes or so and then lugged...
