    Viewsonic Q19WB

My monitor finally died today after it started having problems staying powered up a little over a month ago. No big deal, I used the advance warning to replace it before it died. I do want to repair it though to keep as a backup.

    Inverter ILPI-025 REV:E 2007.01.15 79069140

I have fixed numerous electronic items but never an inverter module.

    I have the unit disassemled.
    C815 1000mf 25v (bulging)
    C818 1000mf 10v
These seem to be the two most important parts to replace as they are directly connected to the switching transistors D803 & D805

    I also plan on replacing:
    C820 47mf 25v
    C501 470mf 25v
    C817 470mf 25v

I was open to suggestions from people with more experience as to what other parts you would replace, if any? It seems silly to me to just go ahead and replace every single cap on the board and totally ignore switching transistors and various diodes and what about the ceramic disc caps?

    Anybody know the part numbers/values of D803, D805, C813, C814 ?

    Thanks

OK, it's the wee, small hours, and I'm tired and grumpy.

This should have been posted in the 'Troubleshooting Computer Displays' section.

Inverter numbers are meaningless. The model number of the monitor is better. For better quality help, attach pictures. Others do it, you get the same privilege. Likewise, a better description of symptoms might assist us in assisting you.

Replace ALL of the electrolytic caps, not just those which are bulging.

Unless they are shorted, don't screw around replacing transistors, diodes, and ceramic caps.

D803 and D805 aren't transistors, they are diodes.

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily
          by lostone
Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...

This panel has 2 panel board connected by a U-ribbon.

          Viewsonic G810 vertical deflection problem
          by Returning Buick
I have a G810 monitor i've had for years but it has developed a problem with vertical collapse. Is there anybody here who has worked on these and can help me find where the circuit even is for the vertical deflection?

Viewsonic VA2010wb (High Pitch Squeal At Power On)
          by RetroComputingGrotto
I've got a monitor on my workbench at the moment that makes a high pitch squeal (that I cant hear as my ears are too old) when you power it on and lasts a couple of seconds before quitening and apparently it can be heard at regular intervals whilst on.

On opening up the monitor and looking at the PCB the usual suspects showed their heads so I have already replaced all the electrolytic capacitors.

The other issue that was reported with this monitor was the fact it took ages to start displaying anything after pressing the power button.
