Re: Sony Bravia KD-65XE7096 with shorted power supply
The power supply does'nt show any damaged parts and there is voltage 97v
going to the strings, So If I had to guess...
It comes down to, is the main board sending the PWM etc. signals to the power supply. You could try heating the large ic under the heatsink on the main board, It could be a bad bga connection on the ic. Without being able to swap out the main or power supply It's hard to guess.Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KD-65XE7096 with shorted power supply
Hi everyone.
I have some news about this problem. I've solved it by replacing the main board.
Many thanks to everybody who helped me, specially @R_J and @budm.
Can I ask the mods to change the title for this thread to "SOLVED: Sony Bravia KD-65XE7096 turns off with 2 blinks code"?. Also, since it's not a PS problem, this thread fits the most in the "Troubleshooting TVs and Video Sources" section.
I'll try to fix the faulty main board, but I'll open a new thread for that.
Thanxs again guys, you rock!Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
by justin35Hello,
i have this sony bravia kdl-43w755c which boot loops. After sony logo, it shows the android animation loading then it restarts…
from what i read online it looks to be an emmc issue…
i’m not familiar with this kind of tv repairs… i’m repairing laptops and gpu’s…
i took out the board and say an samsung 16gb emmc
i don’t have an exact replacement, but i have a few 32 and 64gb emms’s from laptops…
i could try to put one instead of the 16gb one, but will it work?
where do i get the software from?
any help will be much appreciated!...03-06-2024, 12:26 PM -
by AkuankaHi everyone,
I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.
Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help! -
